Express Ferry Offering High-Speed Boat Trips to Bahamas From Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades



Hate flying? Lost your yacht in the recession? But sure as hell would love a decent rum runner and a handmade straw hat?

If so, you are so in luck, because a new boat called the Bahamas Express Ferry is about to start high-speed service from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas.

A massive, colorful ferry with the teal 1980s color scheme has been docked near 17th Street for a few weeks now.

This week the Transportation Security Administration announced that travelers who don't want strangers to see their naked form in a full-body scanner and also don't want a stranger groping them will not be fined $11,000 for their refusal to cooperate. (If you decline the searches and then bolt for the terminal, you will still be fined.)

But that hasn't stopped thousands of outraged travelers from expressing their displeasure and others from promising to cause long delays on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

And so, for the civil dissidents exercising their right to not be groped, we offer a short list of things you might want to say to the TSA employee about to lay hands on you.

New Video From Meg McLain's Fort Lauderdale Airport Security Incident



The TSA just released video of the recent full-body scanner incident from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. (See above and, from different angle, below.)

There's no sound, but you can see Meg McLain enter the video at about the 1:10 mark. Then she's off-camera (except for her frantic hands). You can see several agents talking with her. Most of the agents seem calm and respectful, but one female agent is visibly annoyed by the discussion -- you can see the agent seething with anger after less than a minute. (Then check out the expression as she stomps off for a moment at the 4:15 mark.)

Now, the new full-body scanners used by airports have already caused quite a bit of controversy. But Meg McLain, New Hampshire-based marijuana legalization activist and host of the freedom-focused internet radio show "Free Talk Live," claims that on a recent trip to South Florida, she was the victim of a ridiculous exercise in airport authoritarianism.
