How a Palm Beach County Schools Detective Busted a Kiddie-Porn Downloader

​Palm City air conditioner salesman David Frederick Hayden was sentenced to 20 years in prison yesterday for receiving child pornography over the internet, and it was Palm Beach County Schools Det. Stephen Santos who helped put him there.

It started in late March last year, when Santos was "working in an undercover capacity," according to court documents, surveying a peer-to-peer network in which individual computers act as download servers; rather than many people downloading data from a website, the network allows users to directly connect with one another to share files.

Santos found an IP address -- 668.153.223.252 -- associated with a computer that was sharing 91 separate files that were flagged as "child notable" in the police department's Child Protection Service Database, which flags child pornography files that have come up in previous investigations.

Jeffery London: Second Youth Pastor/Alleged Child Molester Arrested in Broward This Month

​Youth pastor Jeffery London was arrested last night at his Lauderdale Lakes home on suspicion of sexual abusing a boy for about a decade, becoming the second Broward youth pastor to be arrested this week on molestation charges.

London, 48, was arrested shortly after returning home from conducting Bible study at the Bible Church of God in Fort Lauderdale, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Police say the alleged victim's mother left him to live with London when he was 8 years old because she was "facing hard financial times."

Florida Is Number Three in the Nation! (In Registered Sex Offenders)

​For what it's worth, there are only two states in the nation with more registered sex offenders than Florida.

Florida's 57,896 sex criminals puts the Sunshine State behind only California (106,216) and Texas (68,529), and even though Florida's population is about 400,000 less than New York's, the Sunshine State is home to nearly 25,000 more sex offenders.

According to statistics released this week by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, there's been an increase of 7,555 sex offenders nationwide since the last survey -- in June 2011 -- bringing the country to a grand total of 747,408.

​Pembroke Pines police say 23-year-old Carissa Rangel was sleeping with a 13-year-old boy.

We say was because that came to an end when the kid's mom heard "moaning" coming from his bedroom and walked in on them, police say.

According to a police report, Rangel was at the apartment the kid lives in on Monday when she started off by kissing and groping him.

​Fort Lauderdale resident and McDonald's employee Raymond Vincent is a youth pastor in Pompano Beach.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department says he also molested a young girl several times.

According to a police report, Vincent, 41, lured the girl -- who's described as being under age 12 -- into his apartment with food.

​Brandon Deyo, the son of David Deyo -- also known as "Noodles the Clown," who's currently serving a 17-year prison sentence for his child-pornography collection -- pleaded guilty today to possessing his own kiddie-porn stash.

Brandon Deyo, 25, was an Air Force Reservist when police discovered his mass of child pornography he'd been downloading inside the home of a Jupiter family he was living with in late 2009.

According to court documents, police found a Jupiter IP address that was sharing 35 files that included either images or videos depicting child pornography.

Stephen Pearlman Convicted of Molesting Girl With a Beer Bottle and Other Incidents

​Stephen Pearlman, described by his victim as "like a grandfather to her and the other neighborhood children," was convicted by a jury yesterday on three felonies related to molesting a girl beginning when she was 11 years old.

Pearlman, now 73, was picked up by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in late 2010 after the girl, who was 20 at the time, came forward to police about the incidents.

There were at least seven incidents in which the girl was molested by Pearlman, according to court documents, including one in which Pearlman inserted a beer bottle into her vagina out of "curiosity."

​Downloading child pornography anywhere isn't the greatest idea, but at the workplace -- c'mon, man.

Still, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department says that's what 62-year-old Stephen Saftler's been doing, as they served a warrant at his workplace in Sunrise yesterday.

After seizing the computer in Saftler's office, police say they found it contained more than 800 images and 20 videos of kids being sexually abused by adults.

Cops: Michael McClintock's Excuse for Having Sex With 11-Year-Old -- It Was Her Idea

​Michael McClintock, 21, found out a pretty successful method of being held without bond on a capital sex-battery charge -- by allegedly telling the cops he was having sex with an 11-year-old girl, but she started it.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office didn't much like that response.

The 11-year-old girl went to the sheriff's office on November 30, telling detectives that while she was staying at a friend's house over the summer, McClintock "had sexual relations with her on multiple occasions," police say.

Pastor Dieugrand Jacques Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison for Molestation

​Dieugrand Jacques, a former pastor of the New Alliance Haitian Church in Boynton Beach, was sentenced yesterday to ten years in prison, nearly three months after a jury found him guilty of molesting a 15-year-old female churchgoer during a counseling session in 2007.

Over objections from the state, a judge granted Jacques a bond of $75,000 so he can remain on house arrest while he appeals his sentence. He's also allowed to conduct church services on Sundays.

During Jacques' trial, another girl had testified that she went to him to confide about a previous molestation in her life, so Jacques told her that "he needed to determine the extent of the molestation" -- which apparently meant having sex with the girl in the church, according to the Palm Beach State Attorney's Office.
