True the Vote, a nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots organization whose mission seems to be to keep election integrity, is suing the St. Lucie County and Florida Supervisor of Elections after they supposedly botched the Allen West-Patrick Murphy recount back in November.

Specifically, the group is looking to get election authorities to grant complete inspection rights to all election records pertaining to the 18th District race and voter registration records under federal and state law.

True the Vote has also released a video explaining the suit.

Former BSO Jailer Not Rehired by Sheriff Al Lamberti Due to Politics, Lawsuit Claims

Scott Israel's November win in the Broward County sheriff's race will probably mean a big shakeup at the area's largest law enforcement agency. But it's a labor dispute time-stamped from the sheriff-elect's failed 2008 campaign for Al Lamberti's job that might change daily business at departments across Florida.

Jeffrey Stanley spent six years as a jailer for BSO until 2007, when he resigned for another gig. But that job didn't pan out, so he re-applied for his former position. In September 2008, it seemed everything was locked in.

But it was a rocky time at BSO. Not only were Israel and Lamberti facing off for the top job but the department was embroiled in contract negotiations with the Federation of Public Employees.

Cassadee Pope, West Palm's Own Voice Finalist, Still Locked in $50 Mil Lawsuit

Back in the pop-punk days.
On Tuesday night, some 11.3 million people watched The Voice finalist Cassadee Pope perform on-air CPR.

One of the four finalists in NBC's blockbuster song-off, the West Palm Beach native took up a lifeless Keith Urban song, pumped that sucker full of actual artistic juice, and miraculously came out with a damn good tear jerker. It was enough to leave judge Christina Aguilera gushing about Pope's "true superstar" potential.

But it's the cash windfall from that potential that's created a slight hitch in Pope' upward trajectory -- a rise that will only go into warp-drive if she wins The Voice.

As we reported back in July 2011, Pope is locked in a legal battle over who has the rights to her success. Now more than a year later, the case continues to grind on, with a significant court hearing scheduled for January.

Global Education Concepts: Summer Program Puts Exchange Students Into Forced Labor, Lawsuit Claims

The majority of the students worked at Winn-Dixie

Imagine you want to travel to a foreign country to work with the locals. You link up with a company that promises to handle the specifics across the ocean. Everything sounds legit, so you kiss the family goodbye and hop the thousand-some miles for the big adventure.

But when you land in-country, it's nothing like what was advertised. You're dumped in small beach town. Instead of a comfortable bed, you're stuffed sardine-style with seven strangers into a single hotel room. It's a five-mile walk to work every day. The only authority figure around is sketchy. Would you feel trapped? Pissed? Scared?

For the 41 Bulgarian students who traveled to Destin this summer through a work-study program, it was all of the above.

According to the lawsuit the students recently filed upstate in Okaloosa County, Global Educational Concepts (GEC) told the foreigners they'd get quality accommodations. What was served up was steerage.

Officer Artemis Saridakis

Town of Palm Beach police officer Artemis Saridakis has filed a gender-discrimination and harassment lawsuit.

Turns out the 27-year-old Saridakis models swimsuits and other sexy outfits, reports Gossip Extra.

As it is with these kinds of things, Saridakis claims in her suit that her supervisor, Capt. Scott Duquette, said she slept her way through the department, called her a "hoochie," and allegedly also said Saridakis is "a whore who shakes her ass in nightclubs."

Saridakis is one among five other cops who have filed EEOC complaints for sexual and racial discrimination and harassment. She's the only female among them.
