Ed Napleton Goes to YouTube After Story on His DUI Arrest Disappears From Palm Beach Post Site

Ed Napleton: What does he have to do to put you in a brand-new car today?
A few months before Jose Lambiet left the Palm Beach Post for a more lucrative gig at Radar Online, he broke a story about the DUI arrest of Ed Napleton, who owns auto dealerships in the West Palm area and happens to be one of the Post's biggest advertisers.

Rumor has it that in the wake of the story's publication in late January, Napleton fired back by pulling all of his ads from the Post. We put in calls to Napleton's marketing department and the Post publisher's office for details on the boycott but didn't hear back. The most authoritative (not very) account of the move comes from an online piece by rival car salesman Earl Stewart.

Over the past few months, Hallandale Beach City Commissioner Keith London has been in touch with New Times to express his concern about the number and frequency of police and fire department responses involving the personal activities of Mayor Joy Cooper and her family.

We have obtained a number of police reports, many of them supplied by London after he submitted both public-records requests and "commissioner requests" for information about Cooper, including a matrix of all police incidents at her home on Holiday Drive over the past decade.

Cooper insists the dissemination of this information by London is simply dirty politics, a way of dragging the discourse through the mud -- "Don't bring my family into this" are her words to London.

And though Reuters admits that the supersecret CIA leakers who gave them this information can't confirm that the porn definitely belonged to Osama Bin Laden -- as opposed to, say, his wives or sons -- who cares?
