If the economy ever gets so bad that fish becomes our new currency, these two Dania Beach thieves are going to be Rockefellers.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says two men broke into the popular dockside restaurant Rustic Inn overnight and ganked themselves 200 pounds of Maine lobster, 100 pounds of blue crab, 40 pounds of crabmeat, 100 pounds of Dungeness crab, 100 pounds of grouper, and 100 pounds of snapper.

All told, the seafood robbery is estimated at 640 pounds and worth $6,435, according to BSO.

The burglars broke into the Rustic Inn on July 5 around 4:20 a.m., according to surveillance footage turned in to authorities.

The two men, described as in their 20s, seemed to know exactly what they were doing and where to go to get what they wanted. Using a wrench and a fishhook, the two opened the locked kitchen freezers and went to town on all the seafood.

According to the surveillance footage, at least one of the men had a backpack.

Police say both men are heavily tattooed, with the taller one having detailed tats on his upper chest, legs and right arm. The shorter, shirtless one appears to have a large tattoo on his torso.

So, if you happen to recognize either of these guys, or if you know of someone looking to unload a shitload of seafood, or if you spot someone walking around with a smelly backpack, BSO is asking you to contact Detective Edward Valderrama at 954-964-0200 or Crime Stoppers of Broward County, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
