Molena Mompoint, Broward Prosecutor, Busted on Meth Charge

Categories: Crime

Last week, it was a Broward judge. This week, it's a Broward prosecutor.

Molena Mompoint, a Broward State Attorney's Office prosecutor from Fort Lauderdale, was arrested Monday evening on a possession-of-methamphetamine charge.

It's the second time within a week someone who is tasked with practicing and enforcing the law was nicked for drugs or alcohol.

On Friday, Gisele Pollack, Broward County circuit judge and misdemeanor drug court judge, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Plantation.

Mompoint, 32, has worked in the misdemeanor county court for the State Attorney's Office since 2013.

She was arrested Monday evening in the 2600 block of North Dixie Highway by Wilton Manors Police. In addition to a possession-of-methamphetamine charge, Mompoint was charged with failing to register a motor vehicle.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Broward State Attorney's Office spokesman Ron Ishoy said that a request to assign a prosecutor from a county outside Broward has been sent to the governor's office. This, Ishoy says, is to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest.

Mompoint was suspended from the Broward State Attorney's Office without pay pending the investigation.

According to court records, Mompoint was released on a $1,000 bond.

Hypocritical Corrupt Law Enforcers should receive TWICE the Prison Sentence that an ordinary citizen would receive for the same crime.

They should throw the book at her like I am sure she has done many times to non violent drug users, but of course she will get off because our government, our police and our courts are corrupt.
