Missing FSU Student Ryan Uhre's Body Found, Tallahassee Police Confirms UPDATED
Ryan Uhre was last seen on February 2
Update: Tallahassee Police have confirmed that the body found on the roof of a building on College Avenue in Tallahassee Tuesday morning is missing FSU student, and Weston native, Ryan Uhre.
On Ft. Lauderdale Beach this past weekend, friends and family held a vigil for Uhre's safe return.
Police have not released any more information, or how Uhre died. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
Original post: Tallahassee Police say that a body on the roof of a building on College Avenue in the same area where missing 23-year-old FSU student Ryan Uhre was last seen earlier this month.
Police are not saying if the body is Uhre, but are treating the death as a homicide, per police procedure.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat , police were called early Tuesday morning about a crime scene on the upper floor of the building, above a hair salon.
Tallahassee Police Department spokesman Dave Northway confirmed that a body was found, but would not say if there were any injuries on the body, or even if it was male or female.
Northway did say that they were expecting to have the body transported to the medical examiner, but would not give any more information beyond that.
The discovery is important because the area in Tallahassee was the last place Uhre was seen, back on February 2.
Uhre, who hails from Weston, had been watching the Super Bowl at Andrew's Capital Grill and Bar in the area before leaving the establishment alone.
When he failed to return home, his friends reported him as missing.
One report said that Uhre might have returned to South Florida since he vanished.
Tallahassee police have since been investigating the disappearance. They were able to find a point in time when Uhre briefly turned on his cellphone in the Pompano Beach area.
Another tipster told police they spotted Uhre in Wilton Manors.
