Fort Lauderdale Police are investigating a man who raised suspicions after he took panoramic photos of the Broward County Governmental Center, typing info into his iPad or some sort of tablet, and peppering the building's security guard with questions before disappearing in a car without a license plate.

The security guard says he spotted the man standing in a secured area in the building's parking lot after the two spoke, taking photos or shooting video of the building.

The man was asked to leave the premises.

According to a news release, the incident occurred August 1.

The man reportedly was seen around the governmental center's garage, located at 115 S. Andrews Ave., around 8 a.m. that day.

He approached the security guard and asked him "a variety of questions," according to the release.

The security guard believed the man had left the premises but then spotted him with the tablet, taking photos or videos of the garage.

"The totality of the male's actions raised concerns and he was told to leave the premises," the release said.

The man, described as being in his mid-30s to early 40s, medium build, between five-foot-seven and six feet tall with light-brown hair and a goatee, eventually left the garage in a 1998 or 1999 "S" series white, four-door Mercedes Benz with dark tinted windows, a gray bottom, a sunroof, and noticeable front-end damage.

One glaring description to the vehicle is that there was no license plate.
