So he decided to shoo it away.

According to a police report, Kurtis White, 22, allegedly threw the explosive at the pit bull because, he says, it was drawn to his pet dog in heat in the backyard of his home, located in the 1000 block of NW 26th Avenue.
White told police that he merely wanted to scare the pit bull away. The dog growled at him and appeared aggressive, he said, according to police.
The report says White went to the dog's owner, Kim Denson, to let her know that her dog was in his yard.
When he returned home, he threw the explosive at the dog.
The pit bull was examined by a veterinarian, who told Denton that the dog needed a blood transfusion and had suffered a broken leg and jaw and multiple deep lacerations.
The injuries were so severe, Denton had the pit bull put down, according to police.
Denton admitted that she saw her dog enter White's backyard but said she witnessed him throw the explosive at the pit bull.
White was arrested on animal cruelty charges. He was released from jail after posting a $2,500 bond.
White also reportedly paid Denton $300 for the vet bill.
