Jason D. Simione, a 39-year-old Dania Beach man, allegedly stockpiled bomb-making materials, sniper rifles, and ammunition, threatened President Barack Obama and sought to hire a hit man to murder his own wife and infant child.

Simione's wife, Megumi Simione, 28, reportedly contacted the Broward Sheriff's Office on Friday, and told them her husband had been prone to "violent outbursts, delusional type behavior" and had been giving himself injections of an unknown substance.

He also allegedly set up booby traps -- or "kill zones" -- in his home to keep SWAT units from entering.

Simione, who owns Bulldog Tactical Equipment at 3706 S.W. 30 Ave., a Ft. Lauderdale-based company that makes custom gear for the U.S. military, allegedly told some of his employees that he had a distaste for Obama's policies and that he should be murdered.

Employees also allege Simione had become more and more hostile with bouts of paranoia, which led him to stockpile firearms, and rifles. He also had a collection of metal pipes, batteries and nails to go with bomb-making materials.

According to these employees, Simione told them that "when this is done and this explodes it will fuck everyone up."

Simione also stands accused of offering one of his employees $150,000 to help him find a hit man to murder his wife, his 9-month-old child, his mother-in-law and brother-in-law.

According to Judge Hurley, Simione had code names picked out for the members of his family he wanted killed.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office report, Simione's wife says that on August 9, Jason was holding their 9-month-old while arguing with an employee. She told deputies that he became very angry during the argument, and threw the child onto a table. The baby ended up with a cut on his head, and bruises on his face.

Simione was charged with three counts of solicitation to commit murder, possession of a destructive device and child abuse. The BSO SWAT team executed a search warrant at his Dania Beach home after the arrest and found 68 rifles, shotguns and handguns, including a .50 caliber sniper rifle, and approximately 60,000 to 70,000 rounds of assorted ammunition inside.

He stood before Broward County Judge John "Jay" Hurley Tuesday morning, and has been put behind bars on a $5 million bond.

The report says all the guns are legally-owned.

Simione's lawyer, David Bogenschutz, in what so far seems to be the weakest defense an attorney can provide for a defendant accused of plotting to murder the President of the United States, his entire family -- including a baby -- and threatening to blow things up, says his client is in the middle of "a pretty contentious divorce."
