Burglars Break Into Pompano Warehouse to Steal Shoes, Leave Behind Shoes
Three masked burglars arrived to their intended target, a Pompano Beach warehouse, with just one thing in mind: smash their way into the building by any means necessary, expertly disable the building's alarms, and steal several briefcases filled with gold bullion.
And by "several briefcases filled with gold bullion," we mean a shoebox with a pair of work books inside.
Also, they forgot to take the stolen boots with them once they made their escape.
According to a Broward Sheriff's Office news release, the three unidentified burglars -- two women and one man -- took a sledge hammer to the concrete wall of the Coastal Boots warehouse in Pompano Beach, working slowly and meticulously to smash open a hole big enough to fit through.
Once inside, they disabled the alarm and nabbed themselves a shoe box with a pair of work boots valued at $200.
According to surveillance footage, the three then inexplicably began running around the warehouse with the sledgehammer and the shoe box.
They then jumped into their getaway car, possibly a white Chrysler 300, with a fourth accomplice.
And, apparently, they left without their sledgehammer.
And the work boots.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the hammer and the shoe box with the new shoes still inside.
