Two thieves dressed like ninjas tried to rob a Seminole County pawn shop on Tuesday.

And they would've gotten away with it all too, if it hadn't been for a confounding door that did not do what it was supposed to. Namely, open.

Because ninjas are apparently agents of the shadows, clandestine masters of espionage, sabotage, and infiltration.

But opening doors, not so much.

According to police, the two men entered the Value Pawn on U.S. 17-92 in Fern Park dressed as ninjas. There they confronted employees and customers and threatened them with guns.

The men then filled a bag with hardware and merchandise from the shop.

As soon as they were done, they tried to make their escape through a back door.

Unfortunately, their super cool ninja powers did not alert them to the fact that the door was locked. So, they did what any good ninja would do. They shot the door.

When that didn't work, the two ninjas decided to abort the whole plan and dropped the bag of stolen merchandise and ran out the shop's front doors.

The men then jumped into a gray Ford Escape -- the official vehicle of the ninja -- and sped off.

Cops say the vehicle was stolen.

A shop manager and a customer suffered minor injuries during the whole ordeal.

As for the ninjas, they got away, leaving not much for customers to go on as far as descriptions.

Because, ninja.

Although the shop's surveillance will likely give investigators all they need.

Anyone with information about the robbery attempt is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
