On Wednesday came the news of a boil water alert for much of Broward County. And now officials are saying that the alert will be extended at least to Saturday.

The reason for this is when inspectors checked out the county's water well, the survey failed, moving them to extend the alert to one more day.

That's right, BroCo. There is still poop in the water.

As the Sun-Sentinel reports, the areas under the alert have spread some:

The areas under caution are Dania Beach, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, as well as parts of Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Pembroke Park, West Park and unincorporated Broward. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport also was affected.

Officials say you should boil water for at least one minute before drinking it or using it to cook.

The Broward County Health District says the boil water alert will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is once again safe for consumption.

The Escherichia coli (or E.Coli) is a bacterium commonly found in the lower intestine and can cause serious food poisoning when consumed.

We'll update this post with new info as we get it. We'll also post an all-clear once the county has given it.
