Chris Bosh Burglar Left Heat Championship Ring
While Chris Bosh was out celebrating his 29th birthday with a massive elephant cake and a live-tweeting camel, someone was busy ransacking his home of $340,000 worth of jewels, watches and other valuables.
The burglar was pretty selective of what to take, including rings and purses, according to Miami Beach Police. The one thing the robber apparently left untouched was Bosh's 2012 NBA Finals Championship ring.
Cops say they got a call from Bosh at 12:30 a.m. when he returned from his birthday bash Wednesday night and, according to MBPD Sgt. Robert Hernandez, some things about the robbery seem a bit suspicious.
Cops suggest that the burglary may have been an inside job.
No, Chris Bosh did not rob from himself. That would be weird.
Although it is Chris Bosh, so you never know...
According to police, two housekeepers were in the Bosh home watching over the Bosh children while Chris and wife Adrienne went to throw down with friends, teammates and a camel.
Also, the burglar was pretty selective about what to take, and there was no sign of forced entry.
Police say that the robber was either let inside the home, or was already there before the housekeepers arrived.
"We're thinking that this is a total inside job," Sgt. Hernandez said. "According to Mr. Bosh and Mrs. Bosh the [stolen] items were there when they left, so the window of opportunity is between 6 p.m. and midnight."
Investigators are still ironing things out, and interviewing the housekeepers.
The inside job explanation does seem plausible, although Bosh told the entire world via the internet that he was having a birthday party at Briza By The Bay, which means that literally everyone that uses the internet is a suspect.
Also, who comes home from their own birthday party at 12:30 a.m.?
So. Many. Questions.
