The Florida Highway Patrol released the identities of the four victims killed in a horrific traffic accident yesterday that's roiled the region. Two of the victims were affiliated with the United States Navy.

Dennis Ortiz, 31, of California; Albertson, 31, and Kristina Almase, 26, of the U.S. Navy; and Lily Azarcon, 26, of the Philippines, were killed in a head-on collision on I-95 in south Broward early yesterday morning. Police say Willie Dumel, 25, of North Miami Beach, had driven north on the highway while fleeing Opa-Locka police, and may face charges of vehicular homicide.

Now, as the families of the victims mourn, photographs of Kristina Almase, brother to Albertson, have surfaced and depict a beautiful and young woman.

Mourners and family members have already begun to voice their sorrow. Almase's best friend, Giane Zosa Ebias, wrote New Times a note describing her lost friend.

"After she was done with a seminar in Florida, she was planning to go back to school again...we graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing in 2011.

Tina was the perfect mom, friend, daughter, and sister. She's the youngest among three siblings. A single mom. She was the only one who stayed in the Philippines because she wanted to take care of her dad, a retired Navy Seal. She has a daughter named Kirsten, whom she loves and cares for so much. Awhile ago her daughter wanted to speak to Tina through Skype, all we could do was just turn around and cry and told Kirsten that mommy was still busy.

Tina was a happy person. She would hide every problem that she had just for others to be happy. She puts her family first. She made responsibilities a habit. She's a true friend. She was a sister to me.

She went to Florida to think things out on what she wanted to do in life. She realized she wanted to go back to school to study dentistry or a different medical course.

It's very difficult for her dad. He lost a daughter and a son on the same day."

willie dumel was a throw-away kid whose mother had him simply to qualify for welfare benefits and once willie no longer of value he is "thrown-away" to fend for himself, uneducated, unemployable and a drain on society resources, which is bad enough - right ?

now it will cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands in medical for his recovery, another hundred thousand in legal for his prosecution and most likely a few million on his long incarceration

the LOSS to society of the benefits the dead family members undoubtedly would have CONTRIBUTED is incalculable and it most likely hardly matters exactly who is to blame to the surviving family and friends since nothing can be changed

we simply have to turn around the environment that breeds the willie dumels whatever it takes or that next family killed coming off an exit could be our own

I can't believe she is gone. She was one of my best friends growing up. She was always kind and smiling. I don't think I have ever met anyone as sweet and caring as Tina. I can't stop crying this is so unreal

So if the family was ugly, it's less tragic?

"Willie Dumel, 25, of North Miami Beach, had driven north on the highway while fleeing Opa-Locka police, and may face charges of vehicular homicide."

Threw a gun out of the car and fled from police the wrong way down I-95. I see him getting 30 years each x 4 homicides, consecutively.

So what was the crime of the person who police chased before he slammed into this vehicle?

@chadr_1 Very insensitive comment to make at this time.  In respect for the family and friends, please be mature.  Not sure if you are a young person who is bored and doesn't know any better, or an unhappy adult, but iIf this were something that happened to your family, you would not appreciate random people making unnecessary comments like that.  Please think before you comment.  I'm not trying to be smart, I just don't think this is the type of article for you to leave remarks like that.  It doesn't benefit you or anyone else. Thanks!

@miks206 He was running from the cops.... That is a crime in itself.  He is also a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, which is also a crime. The low life ghetto rat did not give a shit about anyone's life, he murdered those poor people with total disregard. Ghetto vermin are a cancer on the face of south Florida.... You should all be exterminated.

@Gregory Raveen Ramsaran Gregory, most people know that no matter how the family looked physically, using words like "beautiful," "heroic," etc is simply a part of journalism.  Murdering innocent lives is a tragedy regardless of what people's interpretation of "beautiful" is.  I don't think anyone's concern should be about how they described the family being beautiful.  The point is that this is a tragedy, and it could have happened to anyone, including you.  I don't think it's necessary to make comments like that.
