According to Boca Raton police, at least one person has been shot at Florida Atlantic University's Boca campus.

The shooting reportedly happened on the roof of one of the buildings, but police have yet to confirm that.

This is a developing story....

Update [1:00 p.m.]: Police have confirmed that FAU campus police shot a man after he threatened them with a knife.

Reports of an armed man on the roof a campus building came at around 10:00 a.m. this morning. When they confronted the man, he threatened them with the knife. That's when they shot him.

No one else was injured during the incident.

The man is described as homeless, in his 20s or 30s, according to police. He was taken to Delray Beach Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.

Update [11:40 a.m.]:  "The bad guy's in custody," Boca Police spokesperson, Sandra Boonenburg, tells New Times. "There is no danger to the public."

Boonenberg did not say who the victim is, but did confirm it was not a student.

The shooting occurred on the Business Park North end of the Boca campus.

Boca Police say the campus is not on lockdown.

Police is currently on the campus, and an ambulance was reportedly seen leaving at around 11:00 a.m. this morning.

This is the second gun scare on the FAU Boca campus in the last three months.

In November, the campus was put on lockdown when a gunman was reported wandering the campus. No one was harmed in that incident.
