A Fort Lauderdale man decided that today was a good day to get arrested for something dumb and allegedly decided to wave around his real-life Star Trek Klingon sword in a dangerous manner Tuesday night.

The sword, called a "Sword of Honor" or a "Bat 'leth" by Star Trek dorks the world over, is a four-foot menacing, crescent-shaped sword used by the villains of the television programs and films with the giant bulbous foreheads.

In a shocking twist to this story, the man was drunk, according to police.

And, in an ironic twist to this story, the man's name is Johnnie Blade.

According to a BSO arrest report, when Blade, 33, was approached by a deputy, he ran into his home at the 2900 block of NW Fourth Street and propped the sword up next to a half-empty bottle of gin.

Blade then picked up the bottle and began drinking. Cops asked him multiple times to move away from the "Sword of Honor," but he decided this was a good time to start taunting them.

AS A GOOD KLINGON WARRIOR UNAFRAID OF DEATH WOULD!

Fearing that Blade would grab the blade, a BSO deputy took Blade down to the ground and handcuffed him.

A search revealed Blade had a plastic wrap of weed in his front pocket.

Blade was arrested and charged with improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon, possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, disorderly intoxication in a public place that caused a disturbance, and resisting an officer without violence.

On Wednesday, a judge set a $100 bond and ordered Blade to avoid booze and blades.

No word on if he asked, "NOOKH DAHKH OH' POOCHPAH EH?" upon hearing his sentencing.
