Homeowner in Dispute With Neighbor Spray-Paints Own Home

A couple of Sarasota homeowners got into a neighborhood dispute.

So one of the parties involved in the ballyhoo decided to take things up a notch and got some spray paint and covered one of the homes with bright, neon-colored graffiti.

Of course, the home covered in spray paint was the person's own home. But still.

MESSAGE SENT.

It's not exactly clear what the dispute was about but, according to mysuncoast.com, the homeowner is facing foreclosure.

No word on why the guy spray-painted his own home in anger, but the graffiti has apparently gotten some of his neighbors a bit salty about the whole thing.

"We live on a quiet street with mostly elderly people," one person told mysuncoast. "It looks like crap. As taxpayers, do we have to look at something like this out our windows?"

Another neighbor, Danny Fortner, says he doesn't mind the Technicolor home sitting in his hood. "I think it's their house and they should be able to do whatever they want," he said. "So I don't have a problem with it."

Someone who did have a problem with it called in a complaint to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. 

But the response was pretty much that nothing can be done since the home is private property, there are no code violations, and none of the graffiti is obscene.

The homeowner told mysuncoast that he plans on restoring the house.

But his neighbors have apparently been warned. Mess with this guy, and he'll totally spraypaint up his own house, man!
