Rush Limbaugh Says Fiscal Cliff Is Obama's Plot to End the GOP

One of the wonderful things about Obama's winning reelection is watching the GOPers immerse themselves in doing what they do best: making loud noises and saying crazy shit that makes even certifiably crazy people say, "Whoa. Thassome crazy shit."

But amid the thicket of Benghazi ramblings and other frivolous stuff, there's Rush Limbaugh.

The blowfish has been on quite the roll lately, calling Chris Cristie a fat foot and accusing Obama of ruining the economy on purpose so he can give away free stuff, among other things.

During his show yesterday, Rush turned his flapping angry jowls to the fiscal cliff, saying that the whole thing was Obama's master plot to finally, once and for all, wipe the GOP from existence. So he can presumably keep giving away free things and change the official language of the United States to Africa-speak.

Part of Obama's transformation of America is wiping out the Republican Party. And anyone who fails to understand that that is also part of Obama's agenda at this moment, anybody who fails to understand that is really not paying attention and is too caught up in traditional conventional wisdom about, "Well, it was just another election. Well, yes, Obama won. Yes, we marshaled our forces, but we need to stand for pro-growth policies and all that rotgut." Yes, we do. There's no way we're ever gonna be tied to pro-growth policies if our fingerprints are on this coming disaster.

So the fiscal cliff that the GOPers themselves created is Obama's plot to wipe out the GOPers. It's like a really shitty director's cut of Inception!

Rush also says the Republicans should just totally walk away from it all, just to see if Obama is willing to take the blame for the bad economy... or something....

[T]he way to handle that, the way to call his bluff on this, is to not negotiate with him and leave it up to him what happens. Very publicly walk away from the talks so that whatever happens vis-à-vis the cliff is perceived to happen -- well, the real point will be to flush Obama out, find out. I would suggest to people who really believe Obama is concerned about his second term and his legacy -- he doesn't want a recession -- the only way to flush that out is to come dangerously close to allowing it all to happen.

Great plan, guy.

Let's create the cliff! Then walk away!

Let's hold the entire nation hostage and threaten to drive off the cliff so the guy who handed our own fat pasty asses to us in November will do what we demand! Huzzahh!

Oh, that Rush. A brilliant tactician without peer!

My Voice Nation Help

As happy as I am to see Limbaugh demonstrating his insanity so obviously that even the dumbest of observers of our "political system" can't claim he expresses any objective truth whatsoever, PLEASE don't forget that the only other recognized part of the Republicratic system is ideologically very, very similar on the issues that count: warmongering, extorting taxes to pay for said wars, union-busting, offshoring our wage base, dumbing down our population, supporting corporate agribusiness, massive environmental debasement in support of short-term energy policy, etc, etc, etc.

Forgive me, but "'legitimate rape', rape conception is a gift from god, and the earth is only 6000 years old" are NOTHING BUT A SMOKE SCREEN, or as someone with an understanding of basic reason & logic would call them, Ignoratio elenchi, or RED HERRING arguments.

We have much bigger problems than the latest corporate media propagated nonsense (see above). If we're going to survive as a country we need to hold the rest of our political establishment (judicial and legislative branches particularly at the local, state, and federal levels) accountable for their terrible leadership and quit this obsession with the figurehead leader of the executive branch somehow having god-like powers to fix the world.

This isn't to say that our out of control executive branch (DHS, FBI, CIA, etc) doesn't deserve a massive reassessment of their priorities--and of course their funding--as well.

If you've never heard of the term "Regulatory Capture," spend a few minutes reading the Wikipedia article about it, consider its implications, and focus on the real problems in our government and start thinking about how to fix them.

@NewTimesBroward Great! let's hope it works we don't need these fucking dinosaurs dragging us back to the the stone age #ExtinctionOfTheGOP

I guess President Obama did some alien mind meld thing with all those republicans to get them to create this problem in the first place.  At least that sounds like the party of Lipton idea for a crazy conspiracy theory.  How is it there are still people who back this lunatics?  They cant even keep all their plotlines straight, let alone keep track of their own lies.

When N. Florida secedes, maybe they can promote Rush to the position of "Ambassador to Costa Rican girls under the age of 16 who will have sex with old fat rich American guys who themselves are only able to have sex because of boner pills purchased under an assumed name."

Side note: To fit that on a business card, they'll have to use like a 2pt font.

The same fat doctor shopping douchebag that said Mittens was going to win in a landslide....

This time, I hope he's right. Obama ends the GOP. About time we burried all you reactionary teabaggers.

Our only hope is elevating the level of our national dialogue so far beyond the reactionary nonsense delivered by Rush Limbaugh that people dismiss demagogues like him and their opinions out of hand. Many people with the capacity for reason do so after hearing him mouth off for 5 minutes.

If we can get everyone to reason our current situation through using logic and ignoring the appeals to emotion which constitute almost everything fools like Limbaugh espouse, we will completely change not only our national dialogue but, hopefully, eventually our collective political situation.

Now is the time for emotion to take a back seat to logic.

@riverrat69 Normally, I agree with you.

However, I think the death of the GOP would be a bad thing.  We need a two party system.  Or three party.  Or even a menage a trois for that matter.

The GOP needs to return to the big tent, moderate, inclusive, fiscally responsible party of yore.

The tea party reactionaries ... we've all seen the light.  They are one and done.

Good fucking riddance.

@ChazStevensGenius @riverrat69 The GOP is on it's way to committing seppuku. This is the 21st century. As long as they believe in 'legitimate rape', rape conception is a gift from god, and the earth is only 6000 years old, you tell me how you have a dialog with this frightwingnut fringe the Repubs have embraced. And these are only a few of their reactionary beliefs. Getting rid of ignorance, stupidity and hypocrisy can only be a good thing.  Don't forget, Mittens supported Richard Mourdock
