Ozzie Guillen Fired by the Miami Marlins

In keeping with the long and storied tradition of blaming the managers and never, ever the decision-making by the ownership and front office, the Miami Marlins have announced that they have fired manager Ozzie Guillen.

Marlins baseball operations President Larry Beinfest released a statement:

"After careful consideration following the disappointment of the 2012 season, we decided to dismiss Ozzie. Our managerial search begins immediately and our hope is that a new manager, along with roster improvements, will restore a winning culture."

Under Guillen, the Marlins finished last in the NL East, going 69-93.

They also fleeced the team of decent players midway through the season (including Anibal Sanchez, who will be starting for the Detroit Tigers in the World Series in a couple of days), and spent a shitload of money on an aging closer who was an utter disaster on and off the field and is no longer even on the team.

But yeah. Totally Guillen's fault.

Beinfest, who has yet to have a first-round draft pick pan out in ages and was the chief architect of trading away AL MVP Miguel Cabrera for a bunch of guys who are no longer in baseball, not only remains employed by the team but is the one releasing the statement on Ozzie's firing.

Don't feel too bad for Ozzie, though. No doubt he'll be managing a playoff contender soon, much like former fired Marlins managers Fredi Gonzalez and Joe Girardi.

Meanwhile, pitcher Ricky Nolasco tweeted out pretty much the same exact sentiments of most Marlins fans:

Marlins b fucking shitting us all, Ricky. Marlins b fucking shitting us all...

Well, Ozzie was the first Marlins manager to start and finish the same season since Fredi Gonzalez in 2009. But he's out of here.

Marlins are so dumb. Loria, Samson, Beinfest and the rest of the gang make baseball so unenjoyable in South Florida. I really don't know why I root for this team. Oh right, location.
