Camille Brown Charged With Trying to Extort Claire's Founder

Camille Brown was arrested and charged with extortion after she demanded the family that founded the Pembroke Pines-based Claire's stores pay her millions.
Brown claimed she had embarrassing documents in her possession and said she would go public unless the Rowland Schaefer family forked over the dough, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The Schaefer family contacted the FDLE back in September after they received an email from Brown, who happens to be the daughter of the family's former housekeeper, claiming she had sensitive information about them and asking for $3 million. She threatened to release the damaging info to the media.
Undercover FDLE agents contacted Brown, 31, acting as representatives of the Schaefer family. She told them the same story: She had the embarrassing documents and demanded to get paid.
The agents agreed to pay the money and set up a meeting in Boynton Beach with Brown on Tuesday to discuss payment transfers. That's when they arrested her and booked her into the Palm Beach County Jail.
