Clint Eastwood: "Somebody Dumb Enough to Ask Me to Their Convention Is Going to Take What They Get"
Remember when Clint Eastwood got on stage at the RNC and started berating a chair? That was fun.
In an interview with Extra during a junket for his new film, Clint was asked about the speech and how it's still a relevant thing.
And in true grizzled-old-guy fashion, he gave the old "you'll take what you get and LIKE IT" line, suggesting that the Republicans were kinda not smart to even ask him to speak in the first place.
"If somebody's dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something," Eastwood says in the interview, "they're gonna have to take what they get."
Everyone wanted Grandpa to speak; well, now everyone's gonna watch Grandpa yell at furniture. YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT, PUNK?
What do you think Romney will do to change things?
"Hopefully be a little more organized, a little more business wise."
Do you now? Well if you want organization and business savvy, Mitt's totally your guy, Clint!
"I'd like to see politicians -- regardless of party -- you know, spend less time on TV and more time in the office."
You kids stop fooling around on the TeeVee and get to work, damn it!
You can almost smell the old-man musk emanating from Clint just by watching the video. And it's awesome. Clint Eastwood must smell like mahogany and leather.
