Broward County cops are on the hunt for two dudes who have been running around stealing cigarettes from stores all over South Florida.

The Nicotine Bandits first struck on August 5 around 3 a.m., when they hit a Publix at 1297 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale. About an hour later, they hit the Publix at 1003 E. Commercial Blvd. in Oakland Park. Five minutes after that, they knocked off a Rite Stop at 4050 N. Dixie Highway in Oakland Park.

The Rite Stop's surveillance cameras captured the two throwing a cinder block through the shop door window, jumping over the counter, and taking all the cigarettes they could carry, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

The next day, the Tobacco Desperadoes hit the Save-a-Lot at 3400 N. Andrews Ave. in Oakland Park, the Sunoco at 4891 NW Ninth Ave. in Oakland Park and at the Publix at 4121 W. Commercial Blvd. in Tamarac all on the same night. The two then raided the Publix at 9300 W. Commercial Blvd. in Sunrise on August 7.

The BSO says the perps, who are between the ages of 20 and 30, hit their targets driving either a gold SUV or Ford Explorer.

The suspects are described as slim white men. One was wearing a tank top and jeans and the other a blue plaid shirt and blue shorts. The BSO could not confirm if they where "jorts." But judging from the description of the two, chances are good they were.
There's a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest of the two. Don't be surprised if one turns in the other for the loot. A grand buys a crapload of cigs, man.

Anyone with info is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
