George Zimmerman might be getting out of jail, even after having his bail revoked for lying to the court about all those donations he's been taking in from folks who think we should all be allowed to shoot each other.
"By any definition, the defendant has flaunted the system," Lester wrote. "It appears to this court that the defendant is manipulating the system for his own benefit."
The judge also hinted that he might bring "future contempt proceedings." [...]
"It is entirely reasonable for this court to find that, but for the requirement that he be placed on electronic monitoring, the defendant and his wife would have fled the United States with at least $130,000 of other people's money."
Recordings were released of Zimmerman talking with his wife in code about "Peter Pan" -- which, prosecutors say, was code for "PayPal" -- and how much money they'd taken in from the website they made
. Zimmerman received more than $200,000 in donations on his original site before his lawyers took it down and created a new one
-- they told the Sentinel
he now has about $210,000.
His wife, Shellie Zimmerman, was also charged with perjury in connection with the alleged lies and is out on $1,000 bond. No word yet on whether Zimmerman is able to post bond.
