Justin Burton Lane Indicted, Accused of Mailing White Powder to State Attorney, Misspelling "Anthrax"

The FBI says that's exactly what Justin Burton Lane did sometime between Christmas and New Year's -- there isn't a lot of information available yet, but we know Lane was indicted yesterday on accusations that he mailed an envelope of white powder to then-State Attorney Michael McAuliffe.
"l hope you inhale this," he allegedly wrote, "and your heart explodes .... What do you think the white powder is? Could it be something like Anthrex?"
The discovery of the powder shut down the offices for several hours and sent several employees to the hospital with vomiting and headaches, though the powder was later determined to be harmless, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Another man, Tarvess Taylor, was charged with mailing similar letters to the Broward County Courthouse and Broward Sheriff's Office; his letter contained the line "I smell death And guess What it's Tarvess Taylor and his family and friends."
Lane is charged with mailing threatening letters and committing an illegal hoax, which each carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
