Louis C.K. Announces Tour Dates: Broward Show November 28

Louis C.K. has done it again: After ditching the corporate model and putting out a comedy special on his own (he financed it himself -- and sold 110,000 copies in three days) the New York comedian is now striking out for an independent comedy tour too.

"I'm going on tour this year from October through Feb. I'll be all over the goddamn place," ;he wrote last night in an email to fans that appears to have bypassed not only an editor but a basic spell-check program. "Tickets across the board, everywhere, are 45 dollars. That's what you'll actually pay. In every case, that will be less than anyone has actually paid to see me (after ticket charges) in about two years and in most cases it's about half of what you paid last year."

Louis will be at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on November 28; you can buy tickets through his website, and if you try to resell it above face value, he says you won't be allowed in if they catch you. I do not know how they will catch you, but he is a grumpy man and does not seem to be joking around about it.

Also from the email:
Making my shows affordable has always been my goal but two things have always worked against that. High ticket charges and ticket re-sellers marking up the prices. Some ticketing services charge more than 40% over the ticket price and, ironically, the lower I've made my ticket prices, the more scalpers have bought them up, so the more fans have paid for a lot of my tickets.
Obviously none of this means anything if the shows aren't good. So that's up to me. As I do every year, I'll be performing a brand new hour (or more) on all of these shows.

Lastly, it was a real challenge to find venues around the country that could work with our exclusive ticketing service under these perameters. It means I'm playing in very new places. I really appreciate all of these theaters that are letting us give this a try.
(Mad props, Broward Center.)

The other tour dates are listed online. In parting, have a decidedly not-safe-for-work video of a classic joke from one of his specials, Chewed Up.
