New Poll: Florida Republicans Like Purging Voters Even More Than Standing Their Ground

Despite widespread debate over both the state's voter purge and its "Stand Your Ground" law, a Q poll released this morning shows both are overwhelmingly supported by the state's wide Republican base.

Of Republicans polled, 90 percent they said they approved the voter purges, despite claims from the U.S. Department of Justice that the move violates both the Voting Rights Act, and, in booting people off of voter rolls so close to a primary election, also the National Voter Registration Act. We love it anyway, thank you.

(Democrats were opposed to the purge 60 percent to 33 percent, for what it's worth, which is almost nothing.)

Also resoundingly endorsed: "Stand Your Ground," the controversial law that replaces running away from bad guys with shooting people in the face. Republicans support the law 81 percent to 12 percent while Democrats are opposed 60 to 30.

The poll was of 1,697 registered voters with a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points. Here are the rest of the results:

Theres a problem with this though.  All of this so called illegal voting?  Its just not happening.  Illegal immigrants just dont vote for obvious reasons and the dead generally have other issues. There is at most a couple of people voting illegally at best.  But Florida loves to purge people right around an election.  Its illegal and the only form of voter fraud that actually happens.  Thanks to this practice we were forced to live under the Bush jr regime. I could see the point of a purge if this was an actual problem but at this point its a waste of time and resources.  They would have you believe they are fighting the boogey man under your bed.

actually MOST FLORIDIANS don't want ILLEGAL VOTERS TO VOTE.  its not a political issue. if you are not legally allowed to vote, why would anyone support that? -Notices were sent to many people, but the only ones removed were people that didn't respond, or could prove that they were legally entitled to vote. -truth be told, many dead people voted in the last election in Miami dade... how can anyone support that?

Republicans are nothing more than Nero fiddling while everything burns around them.  They keep saying President Obama is destroying the Constitution when in reality its the republicans that are actually violating everything in it. Sad thing when people have no clue that they are being disenfranchised.
