Dave Weldon Announces Run for Senate; Vote for Him Because Obama Stinks or Something

All across Florida... people are running. For Senate.
The latest entry into the hunt for Sen. Bill Nelson's seat is former Florida Rep. Dave Weldon, who served seven terms in the House before retiring in 2008 to spend more time with his family. Apparently he got tired of them.
Weldon released this video Friday to announce his candidacy -- unfortunately, it doesn't actually say anything.
Yes, we know Barack Hussein Obama is the worst thing to happen to America since Ellis Island, but other than that nugget, repeated for almost the entirety of the ad, it's unclear why Weldon thinks Republicans should choose him over Rep. Connie Mack and George LeMieux in the August primary. A very dramatic voice says at the end of the ad that Weldon's "a true authentic conservative," but that's kind of it. The rest of the video generically insults "the failed policies of Barack Obama," and Weldon's website doesn't yet offer any insight into what he wants to do.
Of course, Mack's website doesn't have any of that stuff either, unless you consider "Freedom is the core of all human progress. It is a truly American value. Freedom brought the pilgrims across the Atlantic on the Mayflower" a policy statement. LeMieux's website extensively details his stances on numerous issues, but his publicity campaign thus far has consisted mostly of trying to make Mack look like a jackass.
Maybe the candidates will actually try to differentiate one another on grounds other than purity of character, maybe it's just going to end up with the three of them fighting over who's a truer, more authentic conservative. Either way, we've got a new politico joining the YouTube battle for the U.S. Senate.
