Tarvess Taylor Mailed Mystery Powder to Fort Lauderdale Government Offices, Included His Name in Letter, Feds Say

Tarvess Taylor sent one powder-filled letter to the courthouse at 201 SE Sixth St. in Fort Lauderdale and four letters to the BSO office at 2601 W. Broward Blvd., according to prosecutors, all on or around the same day. A recently unsealed indictment says one of the letters to the BSO included the line, "I smell death And guess What it's Tarvess Taylor and his family and friends."
Each of the five counts puts Taylor at risk for five years in prison and $250,000 in fines. Documents indicate he's being accused of a hoax involving Section 2332(a) of the U.S. criminal code -- the section dealing with weapons of mass destruction. He was arrested by the FBI early Tuesday morning after a grand jury indicted him last week.
As for those letters, it's unlikely anybody's going to let us look at evidence before the trial. But there are little tidbits included in the indictment Here they are, as written in the document:
Sent to the BSO office:
--"Police is to kill Black [...]. Not give them lawsuit."
--"You Polices his fools you Don't Kill that [...]"
Sent to the courthouse:
--"This Black Dity [...], He still free some body, Need to kill him."
Doesn't sound like he's exactly a criminal mastermind. Documents show that he speaks English, so who knows what the explanation of that business is. Here's the indictment:
