John Goodman Settlement: $46 Million to Parents of Scott Wilson

The lawyers of Wellington polo mogul John Goodman are trying to get him out of jail while he appeals his March conviction for DUI manslaughter, failure to render aid, and vehicular homicide in connection with the death of 23-year-old Scott Wilson, whom Goodman rammed off the road while he was driving rip-roaring drunk in the middle of the night. (Wilson's car flew into a canal; he drowned.)

As part of the request, his lawyers filed paperwork indicating Wilson's family would be receiving $46 million as part of the previously undisclosed settlement, according to the Palm Beach Post.

But Wilson's mother's lawyer pointed out that the money wouldn't even be paid by Goodman -- most of the money came from Goodman's insurance, and $6 million will be paid by the Player's Club, the bar where Goodman was drinking before the accident.

Oh, please! Goodman didn't pay any of his personal wealth for this settlement!! His insurance and the bar that allowed him to get drunk paid! And, you can bet your Goodman Bottom Dollar that Roy Black is being paid non-insured BIG BUCKS to defend this arrogant, spoiled, alcoholic, drug-addicted, entitled man-brat! John Goodman never had to be responsible for anything during his lifetime.... until now! I'm just wondering how much the accusatory alternate juror is being paid?? Forensics don't lie, but defendants do. The "Frosty" and "I drank to alleviate my pain" defenses were just plain ridiculous, and were so obviously fabricated by the Defense, that no reasonable person would believe it!! And, the "adoption" of Heather Hutchins to be the "step-sister" of Goodman's two biological daughters was SO successful, that the two real Goodman daughters are seeking to have this phony "adoption" ploy annulled. I wish them success! It's just SOOOOO all about money! And keeping a convicted felon to a minimum of years served for a factual DUI crime that resulted in the death of an innocent victim. John Goodman needs to be sentenced to the 30-year maximum, and during that time, his Trustees/attorneys/family/friends can continue to make charitible "donations".

The Wilson's received 6 million from the players club 2 years ago and then continuously turned down 30 million dollars Mr Goodman was trying to give them since shortly after the accident. All that time they were telling the world Mr Goodman was not willing to pay anything. Then they finnally settled for 40 million more dollars that they were paid as the criminal trial started. The Wilson's have been telling the world that Goodman was greedy to try to get more money. Their lawyers lied about the adoption being a ploy to protect assets. ( read the Delaware court papers)

Mr Goodman gives millions away to children's hospitals and many other charities every year. How many charities have the Wilson's given money too since they became as wealthy as Mr Goodman? The Wilsons were already wealthy prior to the accident. How much money did they give to the less fortunate then? Where is the foundation honoring their son now that they have 46 million dollars, and how many millions have they contributed?Mr Goodmans in jail for up to 30 years and he is still donating to charitable causes from jail. He may be rich but his actions certainly don't seem to illistrate greed

@Taccc12 Ok giving away millions is pennies to people like goodman who's worth billions of dollars, and yes he deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life he performed a hit and run, then proceeded to attempt in covering it up, THEN tried to pay off the family. i don't give a fck if hes donated to hospitals all rich people donate to worth while causes. If you feel bad for him, then i feel bad you didn't drown in that canal by goodmans own doing.

No amount of money will ever stop the pain of losing a child. Goodman's case was a terrible irresponsible accident. LeVin's was cold blooded, unremorseful vile murder, backed up with a 25 year history of despicable behavior that his parents bought their juvenile psychopathic son out of. Walter and Shirley LeVin should be charged as well. They created a monster, and Barbara McCarthy let him out to strike again. It's appalling.

Will everyone please call Judge Barbara McCarthy and tell her that this is how it works. LeVin should have paid the widows and families of the people he killed (twice as many killed a Goodman's incident). And the state should have given LeVin 30 years in the pen. Both should have happened if that judge didn't get some kind of payoff for her sentence. LeVin isn't winning friends and influencing people around the beach here. He will no doubt be responsible for some other innocent person's life...he's dangerous and frightening, even his parents are understanding that.
