Angelmi Gutierrez is a 20-year-old Coral Springs man who just can't seem to stay on the right side of the law -- he's got a rap sheet that includes charges for speeding, running a stop sign, running a red light, battery, criminal mischief, multiple charges of burglary and theft, and, less than two weeks ago, an arrest on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
And yesterday, police said he added a bunch of other allegations to that list.
Police were called to the 1000 block of NE 33rd St. in Oakland Park around noon yesterday "regarding a 911 disturbance call," according to a release, where they found Gutierrez standing outside a house.
Gutierrez jumped into a stolen Honda Accord and drove off, but not before "he struck a BSO deputy on his arm with the stolen car." Police chased him north on Dixie Highway for more than five miles before he lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic, and hit 50-year-old Larry Koontz and his Cadillac.
Koontz "suffered minor injuries," but Gutierrez was in critical condition yesterday.
