Allen West Launches First Attack on Patrick Murphy

The ugliness has started. Sort of.

Until now, Congressman Allen West has remained almost silent when it came to actually having an opponent in the race for the District 19 congressional seat -- though Democrat Patrick Murphy followed him up there after West bailed on District 22 for friendlier demographics.

But late yesterday, West published a flashy pseudo-movie poster for "TAXMAGEDDON," presented by "BARACK OBAMA & the BIG SPENDERS," which sounds like a great band name.

Those big spenders? On the right, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi; on the left, the smiling face of Patrick Murphy, getting inexplicably blamed for expiration of tax cuts that he most certainly had nothing to do with. West's graphics have gotten really snazzy the past few months, but this glittering, ominous poster is one of the best, albeit one of the most confusing. What did Murphy, a certified public accountant, do to help along "Taxmageddon"?

"President Obama and the big spenders in Congress are planning 'Taxmageddon' on Jan 1 2013 -- after they've had to face the voters of course," West wrote.

He's referring to the expiration of numerous Bush-era tax cuts on personal income, capital gains, and dividends, plus several other tax breaks. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke yesterday warned that if Congress didn't intervene, the economy was going to take a swift punch to the face.

Murphy campaign manager Anthony Kusich confirmed that this was the first time West has acknowledged his opponent in print and said Murphy is not planning a Taxmageddon.

"If there is one candidate in this race that understands how to ease the tax burden on the middle class, it's the CPA and small-business man," Kusich said, adding that Murphy is "definitely in favor of repealing the Bush tax cuts on the upper-income earners."

While this wasn't a substantive hit to any of Murphy's actual beliefs or proposals, it's the first volley -- more than six months before Election Day -- in what's going to be a long, ugly fight.

Rightwing radical Allen West is such an embarrassment to Florida!

Obama made $700,000.000 less in 2011 than he did in 2010, so Obama is doing worse under the Obama economy.

To quote a famous American, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, (independents, women, students), some of the people all the time, (unionoids, tree huggers, peacnicks, food police), but you can not fool all the people all the time."

Barak the Fool will not get 60 million votes this time.  Because he is a FOOL.  Normal people do not want a proven fool running the best nation on earth.  There are not enough unionoids, peacnicks and Democraps to re-elect him.

West is going to get re-elected in the anti-Barak landslide.  Ya need to stock up on Kumbaya sheet music and veggie burgers, because yur gonna need all the comfort ya can get.

Don't get to cocky there Allen West, even though I have not raised 8cents to your 8million, don't under estimate me. The festival has yet to begin. You are the worst Congressman this state has ever had in all districts combined.

Nothing can counteract West's partcularly vitriolic brand of teabagging buffoonery. Who can forget this annoying buffoon's claim of having had (as a court-martial convicted "hero?" no less, and consort of a racketeering biker club, himself with a trail of debts and an IRS lien) a "higher security clearance than the POTUS," - or his chosen campaign chief of staff Joyce Kaufman's "Bullets not ballots" rants? West's feculent rhetoric on the floor and in public have been no less indecorous, branding him as a hopeless buffoon barely qualified to walk free, never mind hold public office. All he represents is exactly what voters are angry ABOUT - as well as the embodiment of their disgraceful 2010 corporate-funded teabagging gullibility.

Do you have anything else of relevance to offer, Bob55?  I'm ready...Oh, and as for the Healthcare bill nobody wanted, when each segment was polled one section at a time (by many polling groups) they all received more than 50% and in most cases over 60% approval...When the question was the whole bill, the numbers were closer to 50-50...some on the minus of 50% and some on the plus of 50%...Pre-existing conditions were way above 60%...."Public option" was widely popular...Youngsters up to 26 staying on their parents policies was way above 60%...almost all of those sections were positive on their own, one section at a time...except for "mandatory coverage"...Incidentally, the Republican bill in 1993 was exactly like the Obama bill in 2009...it even had "mandatory coverage with penalties"...and your boy Romney's bill had "mandatory coverage with penalties" and "public option"....and that is the case with the Romneycare as it stands in Massachusetts today!!!  You need to do more to illuminate your mind that pore over FOX TEAPUBLICAN PROPAGANDA NETWORK 24/7....Hypocrisy doesn't befit you, Bob55...

West knows he's on the way out.  He is making outlandish statements and acting like an idiot because he wants a job at Fox.  He never makes any sense, but he is able to generate a buzz with the right wingers.  The left just comments on his idiotic behavior.  The e-mail to Wasserman-Schultz was brilliant.  How did he e-mail Wasserman and advise her to say her comments to his face without looking like a moron?  How does someone who left the military in disgrace have the balls to Flaunt his military record?  Look at at this website, its an homage to his service.  I'm not saying West was not a decent, dedicated military man, but he escaped some deep trouble in the Army by going away quietly.

Allen West is exactly what makes this country a laughing stock. The pandering extreme right who idolize this moron are truly pathetic. He is the modern day Joe McCarthy and proud of it...Anyone that votes for him does not have a clue what the word conservative means. More tax cuts for the wealthy, more subsidies for the oil companies. If that is conservative, you a pack of fools.  The oil companies are taking the people of this country for a ride. But...Who do you think are paying for the campaign to keep Allen??? OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL.   Making billion dollar profits while the tax payers continue to bail them out with tax dollars. been doing it for years...They are laughing all the way to the bank.....Conservative my a**.

I wonder where Congressman "Goose-stepper" Allen West was in the six years of the Republican total control of Congress and the White House (2001-2007) and the Courts when all that really "BIG SPENDING" was going on with not one Bush veto?  I think the "Goose-Stepping Uncle Tom", Allen West, was shining all kinds of White Republican elected official's shoes and kissing their rears while not paying any attention to their rampant spending, ie., unpaid for wars, unpaid for tax cuts, unpaid for social programs like Prescription Drug Acts, largess to Big Oil, Big Drugs, Big Ag, the Big Military Industrial Complex..and the list goes on.  Where was this loud mouthed, tough guy wannabe when all of that was going on under total Republican rule?  This guy is a gutless fraud, a blowhard and a dedicated, purposeful hypocrite.  He is a disgrace to the uniform he wore and the seat he holds in the US House of Representatives.  He didn't sell his soul to the corporatist fascist bosses (the Koch's, the Murdoch's, et al.) he serves; he gave them his soul as he genuflects to their crotches every hour on the hour!

The criminal West is so out of touch, even other right fright wingers want nothing to do with him.  Soon he will be nothing more than a footnote in history and probably in prison.  Cant say I will miss him since its become just so insanely easy to point out his MANY foibles and general insanity.

And the Democraps don't want to raise taxes?  They want to cut spending?  Har, har, har.

No Democrap wants to take a single lollipop from the drooling yap of a single parasite whose vote they have bought.

West is right, as usual.

Memo to Allen West, natural-born alien:

60 million of us voted for Obama four years ago. We will not forget what you lame Republicans have been saying about our President. We remember, and we vote. Bye-bye, clown. Enjoy your career on Fox "news".

Ah your showing your ignorance once again because your numbers do not hold up.  First of all, taxes are the lowest they have ever been and the only ones President Obama want to raise are those making more than a million dollars, something pretty much everyone but the republicans think is a good idea.  Without regulations you end up with banks foreclosing on everyone, corporations destroying everything (and I get to use your favorite term) with corporate socialism, and general destruction of everything all in the name of greed.  Actually there are more jobs being created under this President than you buddy Bush jr, who started this whole mess with his corporate buddies.I can only wish you were a better class of troll.

FQ, Obama offered  $4 trillion cut over ten years and the Teapubs rejected it.  The Teapubs were fully in line with making sure the rich continued to ride the gravy train while the working poor and the middle class (the vital consumer base in a capitalist system) rode in the cattle cars.  Obama wanted to do as Ronald Reagan said by making sure everyone who had income paid their fair share...and that meant not increasing taxes on the middle class and the working poor (the vital consumer base) but by bringing the tax burden for those who were getting a free ride back up to where it was under Ronald Reagan.  The "parasites" you mention, FQ, are the corporations which pay no taxes (they pass their taxes on to you) while enjoying the protection, the largess and the tax favoritism of the government as they off-shore American jobs, not to avoid taxes in other countries but to enjoy slave labor wages in those places.....You, as a defender of the parasites, are a parasite yourself!!

Really right wings ? Alan West better enjoy his last months in congress, crazy, liar, black nazi, pathetic liar, he will be out of job soon

Smarter than a democrat

You're not very smart are you. Obama offered 10 trillion is future cuts. Let me put it I perspective for the mentally challenged.

Let's say my wife and I decide while sitting on the couch that we want to buy a new home for 10 million dollars. After deciding to buy this house we determine that our 150k income may not pay for that house, sooooooo we decide not to buy the 10 million dollar house, therefore we just cut 10 million in spending.

If you believe anythingObama says you truly are a fool, and not very smart!

Then why didn't he do it when he had a majority in congress and the senate? Oh yeah, he was to busy passing obama care that 70% of the people don't want!

Moeover, Dumber than a Democrat...you are only smarter than the dumbest Teapublican....

Harley J. Spoon
Harley J. Spoon

That was the silliest analogy I have ever seen...You are really only smarter than the dumbest Teapublican..Obama offered $4 trillion in cuts over ten years...and the Teapublicans were afraid he meabt it and said, "No!" And then they turned around and said Obama really didn't mean it. He did mean it. The Teapublicans were afraid it would help him win in 2012. That was the real reason they said "no!"

RHytonen
RHytonen

A majority in the Senate is 60 votes thanks to GOP abuse of the filibuster, and to the now proven (the Robert Draper book) initial post-inauguration Luntz meeting enlisting full support of a technically criminal conspiratorial treasonous sabotage of the economy and government to discredit Dems and Obama. "Blue Dogs" like Nelson, Lincoln, Landrieu, te current Manchin, and the -I- Lieberman do not vote as Dems so they don't count as Dems.

And half of that 70% want and demand Single payer. Polls at the time and now, show that over 70% want "A government run public option like medicare to compete with private for-profit insurance."

Any ACTUAL "job creator" (ie small busiiness startups) will tell you, hiring is NOT affected at all by either taxes or regulations, but soleley by HEALTH INSURANCE COSTS.

Health care is therefore the MOST important drag on the economy and jobs, second perhaps only to greed - which feeds incoporated speculation, anti-competitive consolidation, and extractionary purely financial "investment." In short, the "moneyed corporations" against which Jefferson railed and warned would destroy our democracy, and as he wrote to Thomas Logan, even in his time (1816) had already subverted our laws.

Harley J. Spoon
Harley J. Spoon

He did try to cut spending and increase the capacity to raise revenues, Bob, when he had a majority in the Senate but the Republicans, using the filibuster, said no! If you knew what you were talking about and if you knew anything about the legislative process and the power of the rules of the senate (in which it takes 60 votes to invoke cloture and 67 votes to change the rules [neither party has had 67 since LBJ]), you might have a point. Obviously you have no idea about the legislative process and the rules of the Senate which are in place to make the minority party in the Senate relevant!!! The point is Bob55, the renewal of the Bush tax cuts didn't come before the congress until the session that began in 2011...and the Teapublicans had a majority in the House at the time...and they still have that majority....so, when Obama made his proposal to cut $4 trillion over 8 years, your boys in the House majority said no and your boys in the Senate promised filibuster in a cloture proof Senate!!!!!...Get with it, Bob..of go back to school!
