UPDATED: Dalia Dippolito Murder-for-Hire Story on Investigation Discovery Tonight

Improbable as it may sound, there is an entire television series devoted to people who hire hit men to kill their loved/hated ones. The Investigation Discovery show Nothing Personal is hosted by Steve Schirripa, the jovial comedian who played Bobby Baccalieri on The Sopranos. Now he uses his mobster street cred to narrate true-crime dramas about women who plot to kill their husbands -- women like Boynton Beach's own Dalia Dippolito.

Last May, Dippolito was convicted of solicitation to commit murder. Tune in tonight at 9 (Comcast Channel 111 in Broward and Channel 104 in Palm Beach) to see the whole sordid tale come to life. One of the show's producers tells us that Dalia's ex-husband and intended victim, Michael Dippolito, gave them an interview. And now that Dalia is home on house arrest, awaiting her appeal and working on a cookbook, the entire murder-for-hire saga just keeps getting weirder.

UPDATE April 3, 2012: Dalia Dippolito's June 2011 sentencing hearing is airing on In Session this morning.Tune in to truTV to see the judge call her "pure evil."

I cant believe this woman is out on bond. Something about her lover that set the whole sting in motion didnt testify in open court but through video, where cross examination in front of the jury wasnt possible. In other words, a technicality. And to the person who said 20 yrs is too much because some murderers get less, the logic is wrong. The murderers should get more rather than she get less. She was determined to ruin his life for months! When all else failed she was going to KILL him and not bat an eye. She SHOULD be in for life.

Her husband well ex husband rather paid his debt to society, she is aware she was found guilty, she is trying to get out of 20years in prison. Is this right no, but it is the law. However if I ever feel the need to live a reckless life...I'm moving to Florida! The state were the judge, the lawyer and police can see you do a crime and you can still walk.

I hate to hear she got out. House arrest is no punishment for what she did! I hope she eventually has to do some real time. Nobody should spend a dime on any cookbook of hers. Its probably for poisoned meals!

What do you think the book should be called.... Cooking in booking?  Cooking from the clink? Cooking with the dink in the clink? Hmmm there must be more. :)

There is no way Dalia would win an appeal, because of the video evidence and ridiculously  implausible defense her lawyers came up with. Haha, Dalia committed a felony to get on a reality show, ya right. Even she isn't that stupid to think that would be a good idea to get on a reality show. It is painfully obvious that her lawyers made up the story when they learned Cops was at the sting.

Why should her ex-husband be in jail???? How is there anything fishy? She was caught on camera hiring a hitman to kill her husband. What is there to investigate her ex-husband over??? Why doesn't the DA investigate you??? That makes as much sense. I swear I can't stand it when people like you talk about things that they have no clue about. No justice in the justice system? You don't know the first thing about the justice system! I doubt you could even tell me how a investigation and trial works. The 1 person who "liked" your comment is just as much asMuchOfAMoron as you are.

Florida is a joke when it comes to the justice system. Letting a convicted murderer be out on house arrest is complete asinine.

If a real assassin had killed Mike Dippolito, Dalia would have gotten the death penalty if convicted. 20 years seems pretty fair.

No doubt Dalia is pure evil. But 20 years for solicitation seems a lot. I have seen people get less than 20 years for actual murder. Seems the court always render stiffer penalty on black-against-white crimes. I think her sentence may be reduced on appeal.

No actually it's because she's a woman, the law is softer on women.

I would buy the cookbook. Her body is amazing! Can you include an exercise and meal plan?

Florida has proven time and time again how crooked, evil, backwards, and wrong it is on all legal and social fronts. It's time to just accept the fact that politicians, law enforcement, and the courts down there are doing the will of ruling majority.

I saw her story on Snapped and they referred to her as a "sexy trophy wife"...I was wondering if its possible to sue them for false advertisement.

Why is she out of jail at all? There was so much evidence

Only in Florida...if I want to kill or attempt to kill someone, I'll do it in Florida because my chances look good for getting away with it!

This whole case is so bizarre - no wonder the media is still fascinated with it. She should be in jail AND so should her ex-husband. What ever happened to the Broward DA's office investigation into Mike Dippolito? Something is fishy here and they were both running some kind of scam. It seems there is no justice in the justice system after all.

Hey her husband is no saint and he deserves to be in jail still for the frauds he pulled with his investor scheme, She tried scammimg a con artist... a white collar thief...

Why, in the name of heaven is she home?!!!  I thought when you were found guilty you went to jail - not HOME!  Appeal?  She was caught redhanded.

Seriously people.

She is appealing her sentence, not conviction.

Heywwjd56

She is appealing her sentencing, not her conviction, BUT I agree, she should be in prison, not home. And they say it can take up to two years to hear an appeal. Not fair, she should be in jail doing her time.

HBH
HBH

Yes and no in this case. Her looks didn't help her with her 20 year prison sentence, but her looks helped her get house arrest over prison time while she waits for her appeal. Honestly I doubt an appeal would ever happen, because of the cold hard evidence against her. I mean she is on video committing a serious felony. At that point you can only make up fairy tales to defend yourself in court.

she is a murder any way you look at it how can she be let go. what kind of justice system do we have to let this happen? this woman is pure evil. I feel so sorry for a mike her ex. I am so angry

Lisa Rab

The judge let her out on a $500,000 bond, so she's serving her sentence from home while she appeals her conviction. Guess that means she has time to write a cookbook.

Anotholg

Yeah, we do get it: she was let out on a bond and this is exactly what is wrong with the picture. SHE SHOULD BE IN PRISON, not home!!!!!! Casey Anthony's syndrome is spreading...........

And a cookbook????  Not interested.

While the rest of the country struggles during hard times.....where the "heck" does she get $500K for bail????  I am outraged that she is released during her appeal.....

Janestein55

so how long does that go on when does she serve her time in jail

mypittzena
mypittzena

I agree with you Shar! She probably used the money she stole from Mike her husband that she put antifreeze in his hot tea. This chic needs PRISON and we don't want her cook book, she probably uses antifreeze in recipes. If she was a male she would'nt be out on bail. I watched some of the trial and Mike handled himself really well on the stand while Dalia's parrot lawyer tried so hard to portray the victim as EVIL as his client, the Black Dalia.
