People manage to find all kinds of creative ways to menace folks. Forty-year-old Victor Scott Borchert was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office yesterday evening and accused of menacing a woman with a gun and a Japanese sai, the three-pronged weapon of choice of Raphael, the red Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
The 24-year-old victim, who said she didn't know Borchert, told police she opened her front door to find him holding a gun at his hip, pointing it at her stomach and raising the sai in her direction. He asked "where the man was," according to court documents; she told him there wasn't one and slammed the door. Borchert then
took off on a blue moped.
"Borchert put her in fear," the report says, "due to the fact that he pointed a gun at her."
A police officer found Borchert next to a building at 701 Minor Road, where he handcuffed Borchert at gunpoint and found two guns stuffed into the man's waistband. "I then asked him if he had a concealed weapons permit, and he stated that he did not need one; he was at his business. I told him that he was in the public and absolutely did need one."
It was at this point the officer observed Borchert "as having blood shot watery eyes with a glazed effect, slurred speech, and an odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emanating from his person and breath."
Borchert was unable to post $25,000 bond
and was in Palm Beach County Jail as of this afternoon, facing charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, according to the Palm Beach Post
