Anonymous E-book Offers "A Look at Corruption Inside the Broward Sheriff's Office"

bso-book-amazon.jpg
It's $9.99 on Amazon; you can get it on your Kindle in seconds. What better way to read a self-published book about alleged corruption in the Broward Sheriff's Office, including manipulation by everybody's favorite Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein?

A new anonymous e-book being hawked on the web retailer, and available in print from Lulu.com, is called Inside the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Chapters include "The Rise to Power of [Sheriff] Al Lamberti," "How Close Was Rothstein to Lamberti," and other promising topics. It also includes a few sections on Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley, who has been extensively linked with Rothstein.

The response from inside law enforcement? Mixed, with some calling it old news.
"There is nothing new in this book just the same old stories that have been on [here] for months, very boring save your money," wrote "Guest" on the LEOAFFAIRS blog, where insiders frequently trade barbs, allegations, and curses.

As for Scott Rothstein, who has recently wrapped up several days of depositions in which he ratted out his former coworkers and conspirators, the author says he was one of four people who was instrumental in electing Lamberti as sheriff in 2008 (one of the others was former Gov. Charlie Crist, a Rothstein pal back then).

"Rothstein needed a sheriff and the sheriff needed money," the author writes.

It looks like the LEOAFFAIRS folks have an idea of who wrote the book, but supposedly a moderator deletes the name when it's mentioned. The discussion is worth keeping an eye on... and we can't vouch for the editorial quality just yet, but there are certainly less interesting ways to spend 10 bucks.

Broward County has it's share of corruption and is not only the police.

Regardless of the proof in black & white, Lamberti protects a corrupt department pocketing more than what they turn into evidence. Thanks Al!

AL LAMBERTI IS BY FAR THE MOST CORRUPT PERSON IN THE ENTIRE FORCE. HE HAS TIES TO ORGANIZED CRIME. THAT IS WHY HIS DEPARTMENT OPERATES LIKE ORGANIZED CRIME WITH MONEY LAUNDERING THAT US FLORIDIANS ARE PAYING FOR. DID YOU KNOW THAT THE STATE OF FLORIDA PAYS BSO $150.00 PER DAY PER INMATE WHEN IT ONLY COSTS BSO $22.00 PER DAY PER INMATE. THIS DOESNT INCLUDE THE KICK BACKS AND MONEY THEY MAKE FROM THE COMMISARY, MEDICAL/DENTAL CLINIC, SECUREUS TELEPHONE CALLS, AND THE FEE THEY CHARGE THE INMATES FOR UNIFORMS AND MEDICATION. SHERIFF LAMBERTI CLAIMS THEY ARE STILL NOT MAKING A PROFIT AND THEY NEED MORE MONEY. THE JAILS ARE 97% FULL AT ALL TIMES. THE SHERIFF'S DEPT AND DETENTION CENTERS SHOULD BE NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. THIS WOULD SURELY KEEP THE BSO CORRUPTION DOWN AND THE DEPUTIES WOULD BE LESS MOTIVATED IN ARRESTING CITIZENS FOR PETY CRIMES. (EX: PAN HANDLING, SUSPENDED LICENSE, ETC). LAMBERTI HAS GIVEN THE ORDER THAT THE JAILS MUST STAY FILLED IN ORDER TO ENSURE JOB SECURITY FOR HIS DEPUTIES.

Rumor has it that there is another book being written about the Broward County Courthouse. I am sure there are some very nervous judges coming up on an election cycle.

This book is now available in paperback.  No wonder Lamberti left town.

Lamberti will never fire Wheeler or Benjamin. Won't happen.  He will continue the bunker mentality all the way until after the election. He will promote some more colonels to increase the layers between himself and the truth. This is how he can say, "I didn't know. Nobody told me". The people of Broward County are too ignorant to vote for somebody else. The Democrats that are supporting Lamberti should be kicked out of the party immediately. The department is so screwed up it will take a decade to fix it. Lamberti has labor problems, corruption, wasteful spending, bloated management salaries, you name it, he has it. Lamberti has to go.

Lamberti has no position on anything. His command & control of the BSO shows it. He says and does whatever comes to mind that is expedient. And he lies. There is no plan, no logic, no enduring philosophy, no ethical high ground, or even well-founded law enforcement experience. His term has been a chaotic, leaderless, hypocritical nigthmare fueled by a few unseeing reporters who only at this late stage are starting to see the forest for the trees. IF AL had even the slightest inkling of what to do and it wasn't too late, he needs to use administrative First Aid to stop the bleeding:1. Immediately fire Wheeler, Schnakenberg, Fondo, Cavallo, Gillette, Somberg, Santucci, Berkowitz, Riley, Page, Weiner, Bukata, Levine, Rogers and Gajate. They are all "at will" employees. 2. Then immediately relieve of duty, pending charges, union employees Benjamin, Guess, Vrchota, Cady and Gordon. 3. Put the entire SID on absolute and total "lock out and stand down" until competent State and Federal Law enforcement auditors can go in there and tear the place apart. FACT: Only Road Patrol is needed until this crisis can get evaluated and repaired. 4. Once the above has been completed and they are out the door-Lamberti must commit ritual suicide. Since he has no honor or guts, Hara Kiri is out. Therefore, he should off himself by drowning in a barrel of cheap red wine with his a** sticking up big for the world to see and applaud--"The Lamberti Crime Family is no more."

I could have written a book! LOL

Hey Patti Lynn...do you know if there will be any arrests today?  If not, why not??  And when are you going to run for an office?  I understand there may be an opening on the Broward County Commission soon.

C'mon folks. Everyone was told two years ago how corrupt the BSO & Ft. Lauderdale Police are. The fact that all these assholes are still in power is testament to how impotent, ineffective and pathetic state and federal prosecutors are. Rothstein is a piece of shit but most of us believe the blue print he laid out in December

The guy on LEO affairs who said "old news, nothing to see here" is probably Dave Benjamin, or maybe Tom Wheeler.  Everyone else who read the book gave it Five Stars, Must Read, Excellent, etc.  My rating:   MUST READ!

Rothstein is a bad, bad guy, don't get me wrong.  But there is one good thing he's done and that is opening the door to exposing all of the corrupt folks in Broward County.  It's almost like no one is afraid to talk anymore.  We need to keep this ball rolling and make things right for those honest people who have been victimized by the corrupt in law enforcement, politics ,judicial system,  legal system, etc.  The people are taking back the county.  This book is a start and everyone should read it because of the 2012 election.  We want to get it right next time!

This book is explosive!  I wouldn't be surprised if Lamberti announces Benjamin and Wheeler resignations this week!  Maybe even his own.

Great read!  My take is the author is tied to law enforcement and it's brilliant that they used comments and reprints from the blogs for protection against lawsuits.  Brilliant!

My own experiences in this financially strained and backwards run law enforcement district has been shocking, badly needed change could not come more swiftly. Unfortunately the people that live there can only hope, luckily I was just passing through...
