Simone Paolercio teaches children during the week at Lakeland's Highlands Middle School, but this Saturday, she was allegedly tossing hash browns at a McDonald's employee.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Paolercio, 39, rolled through the McDonald's drive-through around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, and ordered around $20 worth of food.

When the guy working the drive-through handed off the food to Paolercio, there was something she wasn't too happy about in there.

The sheriff's office says Paolercio demanded a refund, and the employee refused to do that.

Eventually, she tossed the hash browns through the window, "striking the window attendant in the face and chest."

Of course, there was a camera pointed at the drive-through window, so we've got the screenshot from that:

The cops say Paolercio then "fled the area" before sheriff's deputies caught up with her.

Paolercio was booked into the Polk County Jail on the battery charge.

Where is the throwing?

Legally, the entire event is a CIVIL matter and he wimp idiotic manager is just that.

Civil is not criminal and the jack-booted thug lackeys of our ruling masters should have known this.

Getting brushed in the forearm for nasty customer service by a nasty, yet soft piece of fried mashed potato does not constitute battery. The idiot manager could have given her money back. And, police gone wild here.

Always use a credit card. You have charge-back rights.

No it isn't a CIVIL matter it was until she threw it at the person. You can not throw something at someone with intent to injure and call it a civil matter. It is about time that people have be held for their actions. If she had a brain and thought before reacting she could have handled it differently ie corporate. A hash brown is no different then throwing your soda cup at the (fire in the hole).

Let's wait for the jury to decide if the hashbrown was tossed AT a person or merely being returned.

The only way to injure someone by throwing a hash brown at them , is if the hash brown was hard as a a rock, but then the rock like consistency of the hash brown would entitle her to a refund, since the product was inferior and flawed thus inedible, thus proving her point.

Hi, I'm Troy McClure, perhaps you remember me from such educational films as 'Locker Room Towel Fights, the Blinding of Larry Driscoll'?
