Missing Hollywood Man Found Dead in Canal; Medical Examiner Says Suicide

The death of a missing Hollywood man who was found 13 feet underwater in a canal inside his Mercedes-Benz convertible has been ruled a suicide, according to the Fort Lauderdale cops.
David Senkowsky, 52, was last seen on December 11 in Hollywood, and was found on Friday afternoon while helping out Hollywood police detectives.
According to Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Travis Mandell, somone had made an anonymous 911 call to the Fort Lauderdale police shortly after 7 p.m. on December 11.
Police showed up to the area after triangulating the location, but couldn't find any witnesses or people in need of emergency services, Mandell says.
It turns out the GPS triangulation had the cops about 300 yards from the dock near where Senkowsky's Mercedes was found five days later.
When Hollywood police discovered that call to police was Senkowsky's last phone call, the Fort Lauderdale cops called in the marine unit, which used sonar to find the car 13 feet below the surface, near the SE 15th Street fisheries.
The car was eventually taken out of the water with a crane, and Senkowsky was found inside.
Mandell says Senkowsky's death has been determined by the county medical examiner to be a suicide, and his cause of death was drowning.
