Amar'e Stoudemire Now Part of What's Likely the Most Athletic Neighborhood in Broward
Is it obnoxiously large with a huge swimming pool, movie theater, seven bathrooms, two wet bars, and a nine car garage? Sure it is, and it's not even his full-time home.
The important thing here is that Stoudemire's purchase now lands him in what's probably the most athletic neighborhood in Broward.
There are only 23 homes in the neighborhood, which is placed just about an equal distance away from any main road or highway in each direction.
At least nine of those houses are owned by current or former professional athletes, if you include Stoudemire's new purchase.
It could be even more if some of the homes are listed under the names of trustees in the county's property records, as Stoudemire's is.
Across the street from Stoudemire is an empty lot, but two lots down sits a house belong to Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne -- which is across the street from former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor's house.
On the other end of the street is former Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington, who's not too far from former Dolphins wide receiver James McKnight.
Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby also lives in the neighborhood, as does Dolphins offensive tackle Vernon Carey, and former Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter, who's currently with the Arizona Cardinals.
Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who put Southwest Ranches on the map with a series of publicized incidents with his wife at his house, also lives in the neighborhood.
Yeah, that sounds like an athletic neighborhood. If you'd like to join in, realty websites are showing that you can be Stoudemire's neighbor (and own a large house) for a little over $2.8 million.
