Westboro Baptist "Church" Coming to Fort Lauderdale to Scare Children

Fred Phelps and the rest of the "God hates fags" crew from the Westboro Baptist Church in Nowhere, Kansas, say they're coming to Fort Lauderdale on December 8.

Remember, Fred Phelps told the Pulp back in July that he was gathering up the gang to protest the funeral of 24-year-old U.S. Army Spc. Jordan Christopher Schumann in Fort Pierce, but he didn't quite tell the truth.

Still, they plan on scaring the shit out of high school kids early in the afternoon of December 8, and thanks to state Rep. Pat Rooney's idea to try yet again for a funeral buffer-zone law, the Baptist bozos claim they're showing up at Broward College in Davie before that to protest the bill.

The Phelps clan did say something nice about Broward College -- sort of.

"Broward College is representative of all the colleges of Florida," they say in the church's announcement. "So we will stand on the public right-of-way and deliver a final call to your children. You have taught them rebellion; every day of their lives, including teaching them that God is a liar. That when God said sodomy was abomination that it was a lie, and in fact, it is OK to be gay! God said no fornication or adultery, but you taught them that they could change their sex partners more often than they change their socks."

Kind of like Shirley Phelps-Roper's son being born out of wedlock.

Then it's straight to Stranahan High School after that, where, surprisingly, they may allege that God isn't a fan of the so-called "fags."

They claim the parents have failed their "duty" to order their children to obey things out the Bible -- kind of like Fred Phelps did with his son.

That said, here's our favorite Westboro Baptist Church sign:

These people are certainly not bringing anyone closer to God, which is really what God wants us to do. Repentance is the result of salvation, not the cause of it.

Yeah and what the FL law makers filed is illegal. The Supreme Court said they can do funeral protests and that's that. Nebraska passed the same thing and it was taken to court and they had to strike out the law.  What a waste of tax payers' money proposing such bills. WBC has the right to do funeral protests. Period.

God DOES hate the human race, God hates America, and God hates the world. You don't have to be religious to see what is going on.  Earthquakes, volcanoes, weird weather, and once the world economy crashes, WW III will break out and it will be the end of the human species, which are nothing more than heathens and sodomites.

If I was on the school board there I'd actually send the high school kids home early that day, but keep it on the low-down so that the freaks wouldn't know until they showed up to an empty school.

I don't see that the conduct of the Westboro family is in any different from the conduct of Allen West -- hateful, ignorant, violence-prone, sarcastic, smug, self-righteous. Maybe they should run for Congress.

These clods need to have their citizenship stripped away and then be deported to France.

The churchhas received money from lawsuits and legal fees. For example, they sued thecity of Topeka several times in the 1990s. WBC received $16,500, and ispursuing another $100,000, in legal fees for a case won in court. The WBC isconsidered a nonprofit organization by the federal government, and is thereforeexempt from paying taxes!

Phelps-Roperis shown admitting on camera that her oldest son was born out of wedlock.Hypocritical Phelps-Roper's vocal condemnation on strangers having sexualcongress outside of marriage while she herself was guilty of the same.

Westboro Baptist Churchspreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, withabusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. Thisis not a church, this is a hate group.  This is not about protesting, freedom, or God.They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They arenot a "church." It is a scam. They go after anything that can getthem in the news. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thingto make money. It is time for this scam and the hate to end.
