Occupy Fort Lauderdale Granted Temporary Injunction Over City's New Rules

• We have been getting many new users lately who don't seem to know the finer points of our rules.  

• They operate out of 738 3rd, on the right side as you head towards sunrise before the tracks. They call it HQ and Command Center on their website and forum.

• The Occupy Ft. Lauderdale whiners are not 99% of anything.  According to the 2010 census of 165,521 and their numbers of 8 or so, they are .0084332% of the Ft. Lauderdale population.  Which makes them either laughable or utterly inconsequential.  Only an utter fool would care what these sniveling losers care about anything.  There are far more intelligent and honest politicians in Broward county.  

• I see nothing in the Constitution about squatting. I cant wait until these scumbags get evicted. If they were activists or even concerned with change I might be inclined to support them but all I see is a bunch of people getting drunk and high every night and rushing off to McDonalds when they get the munchies. I hope the cops swing by late one night when they are hiding in the shadows breaking the law and bust their asses. These bums need to go home and stink up their parents houses. I stopped by one day to try to see what they were about and none of them could give me an answer as to how they proposed change. I went to their website forum and see nothing but anti government vitriol and useless banter about corporations. If you dont like corporations than stop supporting them. If you dont like supermarket food than grow your own and stop being so lazy hangin out with the homeless of Fort Laudy all night long.

• I agree.  That Chas Stevens is a rat bastard. However, Chaz Stevens, aka yours truly, is a fucking delightful chap who is often on the front page of the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel, 2010 NT Activist of the Year, and friend of both small creature and little child. Plus I boned your wife... You should thank me -- for it was I would taught her "that trick."

• How special.  I am also in favor of every one being happy.  But how to help the down trodden.  But how to help the pitiful.  Should we give them some money.  Perhaps Chaz should give them some money.  That would help a whole bunch.  Chaz should give first.

• I can see why people are hungry. Looks like you're eating all of the food. Get off your keyboard and on a treadmill.

• Chas Stephens has become so irrelevant that he is now trying to hijack our Occupy movement to get some credibility.  We do not want your help Chas.  We are fine without you.

• Your posts are certifiably incorrect and juvenile. You accuse others of attacks while your posts are full of invective, and you add nothing intellectual to the discourse. This will be my last post directed to you as I am joining the vast number of contributors who are clearly ignoring you.

• "Hoard" ... people who live off capital gains contribute nothing to the economy or the welfare of this country. They merely perpetuate the wealth accumulated by ancestors. They are not "job creators," which is an incredibly phony right-wing invention, because the huge number of job creators are members of the 99%. P.S. You guys sure like to use the phrase ad hominem. •  Wrong as usual for a liberal. The shitty economy is due to Barack the Fool in Chief, while Reaganomics resulted in a massive turnaround from the disastrous policies of Carter the Fool.  Barack has seized control over the Medical, Oil, and Financial industries while waging ceaseless war on all private industry.  This has scared the crap out of everybody who risks his funds trying to provide either good or services to the 100%.  These people have ceased to risk their money in this environment as they are terrified that Barack will try to steal it.  While Bush signed way too many idiotic Democrap laws, he was not responsible for the disaster.  Congress in its unceasing effort to buy votes with tax dollars is.  You are 100% in error. The 1% mainly got their wealth by sacrificing time to become educated and working very, very hard.  They risked what funds they had to produce a good or service that many people wanted.  Few people who did this succeeded.  Most either failed or did not become wealthy.  Fools like you want to punish those fortunate few with confiscatory taxes.  This is merely envy, greed and thievery on your part, as the wealthy complied with ALL the laws.  Very few of the 1% inherited their wealth, as inherited wealth is taxed when earned at a rate of 36% and again on death @ 50% for a total tax burden of 63%.  This makes it impossible for anybody but the gloriously wealthy to help their children, which seems like a worthy goal for me.  Most great fortunes are dissipated in no more than 2 generations, as everybody but fools like you know.  You think we live in the 18th century.

• These people need to be stopped before they start causing trouble like they have in other cities. Their antics are costing taxpayers money that could be spent elsewhere on better things. I dont see these anti government people as free speech proponents at all. They call for the destruction of our government and harassment of government employees on their web sites, facebook, and twitters. At best they are traitors, seditionists, and anarchists. • I am on the occupy legal committee and contacted Pro Bono Attorney George Castrataro today around noon.   He dropped everything and filed for an injunction against the City of Fort Lauderdale within hours  bearly beating the  the City's 5:00pm  deadline to  arrest the Occupiers outside City Hall. After a one hour hearing in which the city attorney was nearly held in contempt  of court,  the city  and agreed to a court order stopping them from enforcing their newly minted (yesterday) rules and regulations making the occupation "illegal."  Judge Bowman will hear the case on December 2nd.   In the meantime the parties are expected to negotiate.

• The shitty economy is the result of Reaganomics, the failure of Clinton to do anything about it, and Bush policies. A few more months of Bush and our economy would have tanked. The fool you so dispise stopped the bleeding. The 1% earned their money on capital gains, mostly from inherited wealth, so your comments about hard work and taking risk is factual bullshit. The 1% pay 48% of the taxes because they horde 94% of the total wealth of the country, and the highest earning corporations pay nothing because of tax laws skewed for them by congress. You're wrong about most people ... they are bright enough to know that they've been bullshitted for 20 years and they aren't going to take it anymore. And that scares the shit out of you, doesn't it? Because then neanderthals like you will once again become socially unacceptable and will have to go back to being pariahs.

• The shitty economy is due to our Fool in Chief, Barack the Incompetent, and the Congresscraps.  The 1% pay 50% of the tax burden.  That is unfair, as they damn sure aren't getting 50% of the services.  The 1% EARNED their money under the existing laws, LEGALLY buy taking risks, working their butts off, or by being lucky.  Usually their time with money is very limited due to the thieving tax rates.  BTW, most people aren't that bright or hard working and they will ALWAYS be not very rich, if not downright poor. But I want a fighting chance to be rich.  I don't want no chance at all, which is what the Occcupoids want.  They are fools, as you can never get rich by stealing from those who are fortunate.

• I am in full support of Occupy Ft. Lauderdale!  I am currently employed (our family business is hanging on by our fingernails and my 12 yr job is in jeopardy every week due to the shitty economy created by our 1%)  We are the 99%.  What do the City Overlords (aka Public "servants" not get?)  Four houses on my street are abandoned.  What do they need to get the picture? 99% abandoned?  Are the 1% then going to fill the tax coffers?  That's what they are funding and fighting for... that WE pay their share!  If WE have nothing left, we then become third world status.  Don't any of these people travel?  Do they WANT us to become Brasil or Trinidad or Haiti or Somalia where only a few people are mega-RICH and the rest scrambling at their feet?  I thought we gave up the ROYALTY when we broke from Great Britain. I guess not.  We still worship the RICH.
