Oba Chandler appealing his death sentence in 1994.
The last legal challenge standing between pentobarbital, pancuronium bromide, potassium chloride, and Oba Chandler's veins has been denied.

Department of Corrections spokesman Jo Ellyn Rackleff just sent over the order from the United States Supreme Court saying that Justice Clarence Thomas denied both requests submitted to the court.

"His petition for writ of cert and his application for a stay have both been denied," Rackleff says. "There is nothing else pending."

Barring anything absolutely extraordinary, the execution of Chandler, 65, will take place at the scheduled time of 4 p.m. today at the Florida State Prison.

That appeal was the ninth and final appeal Chandler lost since being sentenced to die in 1994.

Chandler was convicted of killing Joan Rogers and her two daughters, Michelle and Christe, while they were on vacation more than 22 years ago. Their bodies were found three days later, naked from the waist down, arms and legs bound, with a cinder block tied by a rope around their necks.

We'll provide the update when Chandler is executed.

Tick tock....tick tock....won't be long now.....way too many years overdue. I was almost afraid this scum would die of old age before the state ended him. 22 years to pay for what he did is too long. If someone is without a dought 100% guilty, the appeals should be limited to 2, and then the execution should be carried out at 2 years if they are denied.
