Too soon?
After ten straight failed attempts at winning a football game (13 if you include last season), the Florida Atlantic University Owls finally figured out how to score more points than the other team.

FAU, the only team in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision that went into this weekend without a win, beat the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers 38-35 at FAU Stadium on Saturday.

The reason for that victory: probably FAU senior running back Alfred Morris.

Morris carried the ball 38 times -- a few more than his previous season high of 23 -- gaining a total of 198 rushing yards, along with four touchdowns.

Sophomore defensive back Treon Howard intercepted the first pass of his college career -- the team's ninth this season -- and took it back for a touchdown on UAB's first offensive play from scrimmage.

The win also made FAU shoot up in the newest BCS rankings, from 117th (out of 118 teams) last week to 114th for this week.

With one game left in the season, why not start a winning streak?

The Warhawks from the University of Louisiana-Monroe are coming to FAU this Saturday afternoon, although they've done a bit better than the Owls this season.

ULM beat Middle Tennessee a couple of weeks ago 42-14, but FAU lost to Middle Tennessee 38-14 a few weeks before that.
