FAU Football Gets Creamed Again, but There's a Gem of Good News

Today is the 374th day since FAU last won a game, beating the Ragin' Cajuns of the University at Louisiana at Lafayette by a point last November.
However, we bring some good news.
Owl Access took a look at the freshest BCS rankings released last night, and sure enough, the Owls aren't ranked as the absolute crappiest team in college football.
Out of the 118 bowl-eligible teams in the FBS, the FAU is ranked 117.
The Akron Zips are technically the cream of the crap in college football -- even though they managed to win a game against the Virginia Military Institute of the FCS -- with an average poll ranking a quarter-point above the Owls.
In the six polls that rank all of the teams, FAU is one spot above Akron -- which lost by 41 to Buffalo this weekend -- in four of them.
There's still going to be a condescending column from ESPN about the Owls during its weekly arrangement of the "Bottom 10," but it may be time for FAU to quietly pop some cheap champagne.
The most likely shot at an FAU victory will take place this weekend, when the Owls host the Blazers of the University of Alabama at Birmingham at FAU Stadium.
