A new poll shows that Republican Rep. Allen West, who cruised to a near-ten-point victory over his Democratic challenger in 2010, is viewed less favorably than DNC Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz -- in the Broward portion of West's own congressional district.

The poll, commissioned by BrowardBeat.com -- which did not survey outside of Broward County -- shows that 46.5 percent of the District 22 voters polled had a favorable view of Wasserman Schultz, compared to 42.8 percent who had a favorable view of West.

The gap is even wider between the two when it comes to unfavorable opinions -- 44.1 percent of West's constituents said they had an unfavorable view of him, while 34.5 percent of his constituents said they had an unfavorable view of Wasserman Schultz.

On the extremes, 29.8 percent of West's constituents said they had a "very favorable" view of Wasserman Schultz, compared to 23.8 for West. Wasserman Schultz was viewed as "very unfavorable" by 22.6 percent of West's constituents, compared to 28.6 percent who said they had a "very unfavorable" view of West.

In West's district, 3.6 percent said they'd never heard of him.

Over in District 20 -- Wasserman Schultz's district -- she had even more positive ratings.

In her district, 58.6 percent gave the thumbs-up, compared to 34.6 who gave the thumbs-down. For West, 30.1 percent were in favor; 42.1 percent were not.

Both West and Wasserman Schultz received a "very unfavorable" rating of 21.8 percent in Wasserman Schultz's district, but 39.1 percent gave a "very favorable view" to the congresswoman, compared to 12.8 for the congressman.

According to the Davie-based pollster, 402 likely Broward voters were surveyed for the poll between November 7 and November 10.
