Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver James McKnight was arrested yesterday in an alleged domestic-violence incident, according to records from the Broward Sheriff's Office.

McKnight's alleged offense occurred in Southwest Ranches -- the same town that played home to an alleged domestic-violence incident of another Dolphins receiver, Brandon Marshall.

At the time of this post, McKnight is being held in the Broward County Jail on $3,500 bond for the misdemeanor charge.

According to Jose Lambiet's Gossip Extra, McKnight is accused of twisting his wife's wrists and pushing her into their car.

Lambiet says a police report states that McKnight's wife hit her head on the car and "saw stars" and also hurt her lower back.

McKnight works as a financial adviser for the Principal Financial Group, according to Lambiet, and was popped by sheriff's deputies at his Miramar office.

McKnight spent nine years in the NFL -- three with the Fins -- playing a total of 122 games in his career.

He amassed 222 career receptions with 18 career touchdowns and led the NFL in yards per reception in 1997 while playing with the Seattle Seahawks.

McKnight earned most of his receptions with the Dolphins, catching 107 passes from 2001 to 2003. He also had the longest reception of his career in Miami, catching an 80-yard pass from Brian Griese in 2003.
