Maryland resident Jesse Leese almost got away with just a warning from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for not driving in his lane, not having current insurance, and the open bottle of rum in the back seat.

Then police say they found the weed. And the Xanax. And the hash, oxycodone, methadone, Adderall, some more weed, and some more Xanax.

A woman called the MCSO around 10:30 a.m. yesterday from Marathon, saying a white van she was behind had an extremely difficult time staying in its lane, including the occasional swerve into oncoming traffic.

Sheriff's deputies observed the same thing when they caught up with the van and pulled it over.

Jesse Leese, 25, was driving the van with his four buddies inside, according to police.

After locating the open bottle of rum in the back, a sheriff's deputy was set to give a warning to Leese for not staying in his lane, not carrying a current insurance card, and having an open container.

Then the sarge showed up with a couple of other deputies. The sergeant asked Leese if he had any illegal substances, and police say he admitted to having some weed and turned over a Mason jar about half-full of bud.

That led to his arrest and search, which led to police finding Xanax pills packaged into 11 different plastic bags in his pockets, according to the sheriff's office.

The cops searched the van, whereupon they found more Xanax as well as hash, oxycodone, methadone, Adderall, and even more weed, police say.

Deputies seized the drugs, $544 in cash in Leese's wallet, and his van and booked Leese and one of his pals found with weed into jail.

Leese faces a handful of drug-related charges and is currently being held in jail without bond, according to the sheriff's office.
