We're told it's a horse.
When something wacky happens somewhere across the country, a gamblin' man would probably bet that it came out of South Florida.

So when the Harlem Globetrotters announced they were hosting a nationwide H-O-R-S-E contest, we weren't extremely surprised that South Florida provided an actual basketball-playing horse.

The Globetrotters are hosting an online competition in which sharpshooters across the country submit videos of their trick shots, which are then voted on by fans and attempted by a Globetrotters player every week.

Sure enough, straight out of the Palm Beach Pony Company in Boca Raton, "Amos the Wonder Horse" submitted a video. Well, someone with fingers probably submitted the video.

The Globetrotters don't have any equines on the current roster; it's going to be a little tough for to re-create that one.

According to Eric Nemeth, senior director of live event publicity for the Globetrotters, "Amos will need to work on his skills on a regulation hoop for his shots to count."

Yes, of course we're going to include a video of the horse playing basketball:

Voting in the competition is still open for week two, which means the Globetrotters have only tried out one of the shots submitted thus far. Here's how that turned out:

And here's the response from the Globetrotters to someone claiming 2,000 attempts: "1 attempt; otherwise, we would have gotten an 'H.'"

Florida Gators fans may have mixed reactions about this, but one of the three finalists for this week's shot is the "Tebow shot":

While Tebowing (kneeling on left knee, right elbow on right knee, and right fist on forehead), shoot over the shoulder with the left hand, without looking, from the free throw line and nothing but net.....having your girlfriend cheer you on from off screen is optional.

You can click here to watch that one.

You can also catch the Globetrotters live when they roll into the FAU Arena in Boca Raton on March 9. Don't bring a horse. Or do; we wouldn't be that surprised.
