Captain Morgan Statue Stolen From Key West Walgreens

A statue of this smug rum dealer is MIA.

​Missing: Five-foot-tall statue of a drunken pirate with one foot on a rum barrel.

Someone stole a statue of fictional rum salesman Captain Morgan from outside a Key West Walgreens store last week, and it's still missing, according to a Key West Police Department spokesperson.

According to a police report, Captain Morgan was last seen at his post outside the store at 10:20 p.m. on October 17.

The store manager says the statue was stolen sometime between then and 8 a.m. the next day.

The five-foot statue is worth $500, according to the police report.

The manager of the store, located on the 2800 block of North Roosevelt Boulevard, told police he's looked at several store security tapes but couldn't find evidence of the theft.

He told the cops he'd keep looking at the tapes, but it's been nearly a week without a sign from the Captain.

A police officer responding to the scene also issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the Captain over the radio, but he still wasn't found, police say.

Whoever took Captain Morgan as loot faces a charge of grand theft, according to police.
