Rick Scott Says Obama "Used My Slogan," Which Is False on Two Accounts

Sometimes, Gov. Rick Scott will say something that's so untrue, it's actually false two different ways.

Such was the case on Friday, when he gave his reaction to President Obama's jobs speech to Bay News 9.

"You know, one of the best things about the speech, he used my slogan 'Let's Get to Work' in his speech," Scott told the station. "So I think he takes on all the popular governors and uses their slogans."

Unless Scott was saying "Let's Get to Work" back when he was known as the "Madoff of Medicare," he started using it as his slogan -- and as the name of his 527 group -- in mid-2010.

The guy who Scott says "used my slogan" just happened to use his slogan in 2008:

So who's using whose slogan there, Rick?

The other issue with the phrase "used my slogan" is that it implies it's his -- as if it belonged to him.

"Let's Get to Work" doesn't belong to the governor, because the phrase is actually trademarked by somebody else.

That's a lesson on how to make things up, courtesy of Rick Scott.

An argument can be made that the person who makes a slogan famous can claim that it's "theirs', even if they don't officially own the rights. Who really cares who owns the trademark for "Where's the Beef?". Wendy's made it famous so they are the de-facto owner.

I think even though Obama use the slogan of Rick Scott, I will still choose support Obama, because he is the hero of our Black people, and I believe he will make a great achivements in the future..

He is also wrong in suggesting that he is a popular governor.

But Obama has never said, "I refuse to answer on grounds that my answer may tend to incriminate me" 75 times in one deposition. So The Worst Governor of All Time still holds that all-time record. Unless some other supercrook like a Lansky or a Luciano does. I forget.

It's difficult to feel sorry for people so patently misguided. You vote for your own fate.

Yes. He is the hero of the unemployed and the impoverished, because he provides incentive to continue to be unemployed and impoverished forever.
