Manny Ramirez 911 Tape Released by Broward Sheriff's Office (Audio)
|Broward Sheriff's Office|
According to a police report released late last night by the BSO, Ramirez's wife called the cops around 4:30 p.m., saying Ramirez had hit her in the face and caused a bump on her head.
Juliana Ramirez told the cops her husband had slapped her in the face with an open hand, causing her head to hit the headboard of the bed behind her, the report says.
She said called the cops immediately because she "was afraid that the situation might escalate further," police say.
In the 911 call, she says her husband was no longer being aggressive because he knew she was on the phone with the cops.
When police showed up, Manny Ramirez said he was holding his wife by her shoulders during the argument, and as she shrugged him off, she accidentally fell backward and hit her head, the report states.
The cops say Manny -- once suspended by the MLB after testing positive for a women's fertility drug -- was the primary aggressor in the incident and was arrested.
He's since been released after posting $2,500 bond and is not allowed to have contact with his wife.
The names of the Ramirezes have been redacted from the 911 call, but you can listen to it below:
